'The Seasons' eighth season '10CM's Touch' is trading at 30,000 won for 10CM's Kwon Jung-yeol's phone number.
On Feb. 2, the first recording of KBS2's music talk show 'The Seasons - 10CM's Touch' took place at KBS in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.
'The Seasons' is a music talk show that introduced a unique format called 'annual project' as the first late-night music program of KBS. Following 'Jay Park's Drive', 'Choi Jeong-hoon's Night Park', 'AKMU's Onalaonbam', 'Lee Hyori's Red Carpet', 'Zico's Artist', 'Lee Young-ji's Rainbow', and 'Park Bo-gum's Cantabile', it has now entered its eighth season with '10CM's Touch.' The title of the eighth season, 'Touch', is expected to fill everyone's hearts with warm time while 'touching' them.
Kwon Jung-yeol, who will be the MC for '10CM's Touch', has produced numerous hit songs such as 'Hug Me', 'Touch', 'Is Spring Good??', 'Concert', and 'Gradient', and has become a top choice for performances at various music festivals, gracing the spotlight as a headliner. He is expected to lead the program with his long-accumulated musical skills, stage experience, and witty remarks demonstrated through various broadcasts and content.
During their Asia tour, Epik High visited 'The Seasons' for Kwon Jung-yeol. Epik High's youngest member Mithra and Kwon Jung-yeol are the same age, and although Epik High and 10CM debuted only a year apart, Kwon Jung-yeol treated Epik High with too much respect, making it difficult for their relationship to continue.
The connection between Epik High and 10CM led to Kwon Jung-yeol being invited as a guest to Epik High's concert last year. Tukut said, 'When we were looking for guests for last year's end-of-year concert, we wanted to invite the best artists from each field: Jay Park, Psy, and Kwon Jung-yeol. I bought Kwon Jung-yeol's number for 30,000 won from Yoonha, who wasn't even aware of this situation and acted as a broker in between.'
Kwon Jung-yeol expressed his disappointment about past interactions. The first issue was regarding featuring. Referring to Tablo's first solo album 'Flower', released in October 2011, Tablo stated, 'Originally, there was supposed to be one more song. That song was meant to be requested from 10CM, but at that time, 10CM was not appearing on broadcasts. I loved his voice so much that I asked for a feature, but a week later, he appeared on 'Infinite Challenge' and became a star. However, the 'Flower' album contains content reflecting my difficult times, and I felt it wouldn't be right to invite a hot star. At that time, anyone who helped me was subjected to criticism. He had just become a star, and it wouldn't be right to ask for his help and have him face criticism. So I couldn't ask for a feature.'
Kwon Jung-yeol said, 'Rather than a wound, I had been bragging excessively to my surroundings that I was working with Tablo.' In an effort to resolve this disappointment, he immediately requested Tablo to feature on his unreleased new song 'Complex' and played it for him on the spot. After listening to Kwon Jung-yeol's new song, Epik High remarked, 'It was so good that I almost swore' and accepted the featured role.
Kwon Jung-yeol expressed disappointment that 'Fine Thank You And You?' did not reach the number one spot on the music charts, overshadowed by Epik High's 'It's Cold'. However, he mentioned that he wasn't expecting anything in return and sang Lee Hi's part in the original key while completing a special stage with Epik High.
Epik High expressed their hopes that '10CM's Touch' would reach number one by presenting 'ONE' as the final song. Tukut mentioned, 'The phrase 'Touch' makes one's heart feel squishy, and I hope it provides comfort to everyone.' Mithra added, 'There aren't many music programs that touch people's hearts, so I hope it becomes such a program.' Tablo remarked, 'Thinking back, we imagined it and became a million-subscriber YouTube channel, so I hope 'Touch' becomes a hit, and furthermore, I hope that within a year, 10CM sweeps the Billboard and Grammy awards.'
