Actress Demi Moore confessed about the personality changes of her ex-husband Bruce Willis due to his battle with dementia.
Demi Moore recently appeared on the podcast 'Oprah Winfrey' and revealed her thoughts on her ex-husband, actor Bruce Willis's struggle with dementia.
In this broadcast, Oprah Winfrey, while discussing the new memoir of Willis's current wife, Emma Heming, unveiled a clip of an interview with Demi Moore conducted in advance. Demi Moore stated, "It's really hard. It's difficult to watch someone who once was so vibrant, strong, and had a clear direction transform into someone completely different."
Demi Moore explained, "I think the most important thing is to accept that person as they are. If you let go of the expectation that they should be as they were in the past or as you want them to be, you can see an astonishingly sweet, gentle, and loving side within them," adding, "Sometimes, because they need more care, a childlike playfulness and purity may emerge."
She emphasized, "Just being there and being together is the most important thing," and noted, "If you worry about what will happen in the future, anxiety only grows, and looking back at the past only increases feelings of loss and sadness. But if you stay in this moment, there is still so much within. It's beautiful even if it doesn't necessarily get expressed in words."
Demi Moore commented on Emma Heming moving Bruce Willis's residence separately, stating, "I think Bruce would have wanted that," and added, "The children would prefer to live in a home that suits them rather than one tailored to their father's needs."
Bruce Willis publicly announced his retirement after being diagnosed with aphasia in 2022. Subsequently, with his condition worsening, he revealed a diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia. Emma Heming recently stated in an interview that her husband, "Bruce is still moving, free, and overall health is good," but added, "However, the disease is betraying him."
