Actress Sunwoo Yongyeo revealed the reason she decided to move to the United States after retirement.

On that day, Sunwoo Yongyeo recalled her time at TBC in the car on her way to meet Jeon Won-joo. Having been a part of TBC TV's first generation of talents, he currently spoke about KBS annex, saying, "We built and entered. Mr. Lee Byung-chul paid for everything, but within 6 months or 10 months, it was consolidated into KBS, becoming KBS2TV."
He continued, "I had just finished a play in the United States at that time. However, while doing the play, someone told me it had become KBS. 'No way, that can't be true?' I found out that it had just become KBS at that time," noting that he lost his workplace in an instant.
After that, Sunwoo Yongyeo met Jeon Won-joo to discuss the KBS consolidation once again. At that time, TBC was consolidated into KBS on November 30, 1980. Sunwoo Yongyeo expressed her honest feelings, saying, "That doesn't seem right. No matter how much I think about it now, I felt incredibly unfair. I really did at that time."
Sunwoo Yongyeo lamented that TBC was thriving, saying, "Chairman Lee was like family, caring even about how we lived, and when times were tough for someone, he would say to take care of them. I was struggling at that time. But the producers would ask, 'Can you do 2 dramas for Sunwoo Yongyeo?' It was that familial atmosphere."
When the production team asked, "Was it taken away during the Chun Doo-hwan regime?" Sunwoo Yongyeo replied, "From my perspective, that's the only way to say it. (No matter) how much money is offered, taking away what I've built up doesn't make sense. This has nothing to do with money. How can you quantify my years of experience with money? It's nonsense," she said. In response, Jeon Won-joo added, "It's heartbreaking. It was heartbreaking," and remarked, "When we gathered, it was a complete mess."
Ultimately, after the KBS consolidation, Sunwoo Yongyeo decided to move to the United States. He stated, "They merged it. The atmosphere was strange. I realized this was not a place for me."
