ASTRO member and actor Cha Eun-woo (real name Lee Dong-min, 28) served as the representative trainee at the graduation ceremony at the Army training center in Nonsan, Chungcheongnam-do, leading his fellow trainees.
On the 2nd, Cha Eun-woo stood in front of the trainees dressed in an Army uniform and beret, wearing a microphone. He shouted energetically, "I report. Trainee Lee Dong-min has completed his education as ordered. I report this. Loyalty." He then showed a dignified appearance while singing military songs with his fellow trainees in the middle of the training ground.
After the graduation ceremony, the command staff encouraged Cha Eun-woo and took commemorative photos together. The on-site moments quickly gained attention as they spread rapidly through online communities and social media.
Trainees' families also became a topic of discussion. One netizen noted, "All the mothers were busy checking their sons' locations and looking for Cha Eun-woo," and said, "It was impressive to see them pinning the private first class badge and then running back to say, 'Sorry, my son.'"
Cha Eun-woo entered the Nonsan Army training center on July 28th and completed four weeks of basic military training. He served as a company commander trainee at the training center. He will continue his service in the military band of the Ministry of National Defense. His discharge date is scheduled for January 27, 2027.
