Recently, actress Park Tam-hee, who clarified rumors about her divorce with her husband, confessed that she was diagnosed with cancer 8 years ago.
On the 3rd, in the YouTube channel "Newly Renewed," actress Park Tam-hee granted an interview to share her story.
On that day, Park Tam-hee noted that she was encouraged to undergo a health check-up during a parent meeting in 2017, and stated that she received a cancer diagnosis through that examination.
He said, "It felt like my heart dropped and then came back up. 'Am I a cancer patient?' From that moment, I became a cancer patient. My child was sleeping, and she was so young. I could only think, 'What should I do?' I became a cancer patient in May 2017."
He continued, "There are no cancer patients in my family. I didn't believe it since there is no family history. I know I'm going to die someday, but when it becomes reality, it feels different. It was a strange emotion that I couldn't express in words. I was 40 years old then."
Park Tam-hee stated that she did not reveal her cancer diagnosis to her family, except for her older sister, saying, "Having experienced it, it hurts so much. It was like my heart was dying. Isn't it enough for me to be sick? If I let them know, they'll keep worrying about me. So, I didn't want to make them hurt."
He said, "I told my sister not to say anything to our parents," adding that he even kept it a secret from her husband, who travels a lot for work.
However, before the surgery, her older sister informed the family of Park Tam-hee's condition. He explained, "I thought it was early-stage cancer, but it had metastasized. It turned into a major surgery as they had to remove the metastatic parts. So, I had to undergo chemotherapy. They said that if I had chemotherapy, my hair would fall out, so it would take a long time to grow back. Therefore, I couldn't be active for several years."
Earlier last month, Park Tam-hee appeared on Ryu Jin's YouTube channel and expressed her frustrations over unfounded rumors about her divorce. At that time, Ryu Jin said, "I didn't have a good first impression of her. I even heard rumors that she got divorced." Park Tam-hee lamented, "There are so many false rumors about me, and it's really frustrating. That's why I actively use Instagram. People misunderstand so much."
Meanwhile, Park Tam-hee has a son and a daughter with her businessman husband, whom she married in 2008.
