The Netflix animated film 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' (hereinafter 'KDEH') OST 'Golden' has claimed the No. 1 spot on the U.S. Billboard main single chart 'Hot 100' for three consecutive weeks.
Billboard announced on the 2nd (local time) through a chart preview article that HuntRix's 'Golden' secured the top position again, marking its third time overall.
According to reports, 'Golden' recorded 35.3 million streams in the U.S. from August 22 to 28, an increase of 4% compared to the previous week, while the radio broadcast score rose by 21% to 19.7 million plays, and sales increased by 11% to 9,000 copies.
'Golden' entered the chart at No. 81 last month, then rose to No. 23, No. 6, No. 4, and No. 2, eventually reaching No. 1 in its seventh week, keeping the top spot for three consecutive weeks thereafter. 'Golden' is the ninth song to claim the No. 1 spot on Billboard's 'Hot 100' and the first for a K-pop female artist. Additionally, it became the third song to remain at the top of the 'Hot 100' for more than three weeks, following BTS's 'Butter' (10 weeks) and 'Dynamite' (3 weeks).
Additionally, the 'KDEH' OST made history last week by becoming the first soundtrack to have four songs simultaneously enter the top 10 of the 'Hot 100' chart. 'Golden' continues to hold the No. 1 position, while 'Your Idol' and 'Soda Pop' by Saja Boys maintain the 4th and 5th positions, respectively, and HuntRix's 'How It's Done' jumped from 10th to 9th.
IAAN, the general music producer for 'KDEH', said in a recent interview with Billboard, "It's really interesting that people listen to the song in two different ways. Some people love the movie, and thanks to the film, the song is becoming a hit, while others come across the song and, because of it, the movie is also becoming a hit."
Meanwhile, the dance-pop genre track 'Golden' has captivated global listeners with its refreshing high notes, addictive melody, and hopeful message. This song was sung by Korean American composers Lee Jae, singer Audrey Noona, and Ray Amiga, with production involving Teddy and 24 from The Black Label, known for creating hits for BLACKPINK and BIGBANG.
