Five years ago, Seo Jang-hoon's assets were reported to be approximately 70 billion won in real estate alone, owning three buildings. Furthermore, the appearance fee for a top-tier host like Seo Jang-hoon is extraordinarily high and difficult to estimate.
The reason Seo Jang-hoon is diligently engaging in broadcasting is simply because of 'love.' Seo Jang-hoon said, "I am evaluated as a successful player in the Korea Basketball League (KBL), but it is hard to see myself as a player who is loved by basketball fans. There were complaints, I had fights with players, and I am not particularly good-looking; in my opinion, many basketball fans might be dissatisfied, thinking, 'Is he the basketball player representing our country?'" He cautiously opened up.
He stated, "I felt a lot of loneliness. Something felt empty. I moved around to six out of the ten teams," and added, "As I accidentally started doing entertainment, I felt the warmth I had long craved—something I couldn't receive from the public eyes during my long basketball career. It felt like wanting to go to a house that would warm me up when I couldn't receive love at home." This expression evoked sympathy.
