The late Go Eun-bi, a member of the girl group Ladies' Code, has marked the 11th anniversary of her passing.
Go Eun-bi died in a traffic accident on Sept. 3, 2014, at the age of 21.
At that time, Ladies' Code was on their way to Seoul after finishing the KBS 1TV program 'Open Music Concert' in Daegu. However, while driving on the highway in the rain, the accident occurred near the Sin-gal Junction of the Yongdong Expressway, located in Unnam-dong, Giheung-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi Province.
At the time of the accident, the rear wheel detached, causing the vehicle to skid significantly on the wet road before rolling several times and crashing into the guardrail. It is reported that Go Eun-bi passed away shortly after the accident.
Additionally, another member, Kwon Ri-se, who was unconscious, also passed away at around 10:10 a.m. on Sept. 7, four days later. Other Ladies' Code members, including Ashley, So-jung, and Juni, were also seriously injured.
The sudden news plunged the music industry into mourning. Following this, it was revealed that Go Eun-bi's song had reached No. 1 on the music charts, leading to widespread recognition of Ladies' Code's track 'I'm fine thank you.'
At the funeral held two days after the accident, family members, officials from her former agency Polaris Entertainment, friends, and fans attended to pay their last respects. In particular, members Ashley and Juni attended the funeral with neck braces, supported by acquaintances, adding to the tragedy.
