CORTIS is gaining popularity among global music fans through word of mouth.
The title track "What You Want" from CORTIS (Martin, James, Juhun, Seonghyun, Gunho)'s debut album has entered the number one spot on the "Daily Viral Songs Global" chart of the world's largest music streaming platform, Spotify, as of Sept. 1. CORTIS is the only team among rookie groups that debuted this year to have topped this chart.
"What You Want" has made it onto the "Daily Viral Songs" chart in 24 countries/regions worldwide as of Sept. 1. Notably, it topped the chart in seven countries/regions, including Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
Spotify's "Daily Viral Songs" chart ranks songs based on data regarding recent play counts and sharing frequencies that increase rapidly. It serves as an objective indicator for quickly reading trends in the sensitive music market. The entrance of a rookie group into this chart with their debut song reflects the intense interest from global music fans towards them.
As of that same day, "What You Want"'s accumulated play count on Spotify surpassed 3.29 million. Additionally, CORTIS has achieved remarkable results, with more than 1.1 million monthly listeners (listeners in the last 28 days) just about two weeks after the release of their single.
"What You Want" is a declaration-like song that embodies CORTIS's determination as they step into a new world. The five members boldly declare that they will not hesitate to seize what they want. The combination of boom bap rhythm and psychedelic rock guitar riffs that flourished in the 1960s provides a fresh appeal. This song is gaining word of mouth through performances on 11 treadmills and steady live stages.
CORTIS will release their debut album "COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES" on the 8th at 6 p.m. On that day, the music video for the follow-up track "FaSHioN" will be released on the official YouTube channel of HYBE (chairman Bang Si-hyuk) labels.
