Actor Ko So-young returns to KBS as an MC after 28 years.
The program that Ko So-young is joining as an MC is the new YouTube content 'Ko So-young's Pub Restaurant' (hereinafter 'Pub Restaurant') presented by KBS. Set to be unveiled for the first time on Sept. 8, Monday, on the YouTube KBS Entertainment channel (KBS Entertain), 'Pub Restaurant' is a fan-centric talk program where MC Ko So-young, the manager of the pub restaurant, invites guests, including idols and actors she has long admired, cooks heartfelt dishes for them, and shares stories she has always been curious about as a fan, without holding back. As confirmed by the name 'Pub Restaurant', this is the first spin-off content launched by the production team of KBS's representative entertainment program 'Yoon's Restaurant', which is nearing its sixth anniversary.
Ko So-young's return to KBS as an MC comes after 28 years. Previously active as an MC on KBS's representative entertainment program 'Super Sunday' in 1997, Ko So-young making her return to KBS as an MC through 'Pub Restaurant' marks a historic first appearance as a 'solo MC.'
In 'Pub Restaurant', Ko So-young will serve customized dishes to her guests with her renowned cooking skills. As a self-proclaimed fan of 'Yoon's Restaurant', Ko So-young plans to upgrade already proven hit recipes from 'Yoon's Restaurant' to her own version, offering delightful dishes tailored to the tastes and preferences of her guests.
Not only showcasing her cooking skills, but 'Pub Restaurant' is also expected to reveal surprising sides of MC Ko So-young. "I have a daughter, and I am a mom who is a fan alongside her," Ko So-young shyly disclosed, mentioning that she is a 'fan' deeply immersed in K-POP idols and K-drama actors. The interactions and heartfelt talks born out of Ko So-young's affection with the guests she has always supported as a fan sparked continuous laughter among invited guests and Ko So-young. Additionally, it was reported that Ko So-young, for the first time in her life, challenged herself with an idol guest, providing great laughs. The teaser for 'Pub Restaurant', released on the 2nd, has drawn attention by previewing aspects of Ko So-young's charm.
Recently, the production team that completed the first recording of 'Pub Restaurant' with Ko So-young noted, "The scene felt like Ko So-young's 'mom fan's heart.' She cooked for idol guests with a motherly touch and asked curious questions, resulting in unexpected talks," and expressed excitement, saying, "Feel free to anticipate the meetings between Ko So-young and the hottest idol stars and actors." KBS's 'Pub Restaurant' will be available every Monday at 6:30 p.m. on the YouTube KBS Entertainment channel (KBS Entertain) starting from Sept. 8, and it will also air on KBS2 at 11:35 p.m. the same day.
