MBN's new Wednesday-Thursday mini-series 'First Lady' has unveiled a powerful 'third teaser.'
As 'First Lady' (written by Kim Hyung-wan, directed by Lee Ho-hyun, produced by Studio Jidam, Artist Studio, and Roadshow Plus) is set to premiere on the 24th (Wed) at 10:20 p.m., it depicts an unprecedented event where a president-elect makes a stunning request for a divorce from his wife, who is destined to become the First Lady. The story unfolds over the remaining 67 days until the presidential inauguration, depicting the intense conflicts between the president-elect's couple and the political conspiracies and family secrets that emerge.
In relation to this, the 'third teaser' of 'First Lady,' which promises to unleash 'the worst scandal that will shake our country,' has drawn attention. The 'third teaser' begins with a news commentary stating, 'The divorce rumors of the president-elect couple have hit nationwide!' raising the tension.
First, Cha Soo-yeon (Yoo-jin), with a sharp gaze, says, 'People are always angry. What if the target of that enraged public sentiment is the president?' throwing a strong provocation towards her husband, Hyun Min-chul (Ji Hyun-woo), hinting at signs of a catastrophe. As Hyun Min-chul, unable to contain his anger, sweeps the objects off his desk, Shin Hae-rin (Lee Min-young) silently hands him something and whispers, 'Let's start with this. Public opinion will change,' increasing the unease.
After the subtitle 'the worst scandal that shook our country' covers the screen, Hyun Min-chul requests Baek Young-sun (Son Ji-na) from the Peace and Freedom Party, against whom he ran in the presidential election, saying, 'Please pass the special law,' while she raises doubts by stating, 'It seems that the knot is held by the wife of the president-elect.' As Hyun Min-chul, plagued by worries, collaborates with Cha Soo-yeon, a chilling suggestion emerges: 'If I bind your hands, how could you trust me?' Following that, the appearance of reporter Son Min-joo (Shin So-yul), kneeling in humiliation under the cold rain, creates a strange atmosphere. Hyun Min-chul expresses his suspicion, asking, 'Are you saying you'll live as my person from now on?' while someone retorts, 'Just take the divorce to court,' bringing urgency to the scene.
In particular, after the phrase 'the truth hidden in chaos' flows, Hyun Min-chul's friend Yoon Ki-joo (Kim Ki-bang) throws a tomato at Cha Soo-yeon, shouting in anger, 'You killed him. You two bastards killed him,' drawing attention. Following that, as Cha Soo-yeon and Hyun Min-chul walk side by side, Hyun Min-chul laments, 'As long as we are husband and wife, the investigation will continue.', but Cha Soo-yeon defiantly responds with a fierce aura, saying, 'Trust me. It will never happen.'
Moreover, Hyun Min-chul, gazing at the deceased body intently with a trembling gaze, states, 'I feel like I should know that person now. Therefore, I need to know the truth,' expressing a determined will. At the same time, Cha Soo-yeon's formidable provocation, 'Are you trying to make me give up? I won't be the one to give up first,' wraps up the scene, raising expectations for 'First Lady.'
The production team stated, 'The 'third teaser' contains the prelude to the divorce war between the presidential couple, a worst scandal that will shake our country and penetrates the core of the drama.' They added, 'Through the groundbreaking narrative of the clash between power and love, we expect 'First Lady' to deliver a sensational drama unlike anything we have seen before.'
Meanwhile, MBN's new Wednesday-Thursday mini-series 'First Lady' is a collaborative project among Studio Jidam, Artist Studio, and Roadshow Plus, with actor Lee Jung-jae as a major shareholder.
