It has already been 10 years since former Ladies' Code member Eunbi passed away in an unexpected traffic accident.
On the morning of Sept. 3, 2014, after finishing their schedule in Daegu and heading to Seoul, the vehicle carrying Ladies' Code members skidded on a rainy road when the rear wheel came off near the Singal Junction on the Yongdong Expressway. The vehicle rolled over several times before crashing into the guardrail, and Eunbi, who was 21 years old at the time, lost her life at the scene.
Lisee, who was unconscious, also passed away four days later, leaving fans and the music industry in shock and grief. Members Ashley, Sojung, and Juni were seriously injured and required hospitalization.
Immediately after the accident, the agency Polaris Entertainment noted, "The vehicle spun out after the rear wheel came off and collided with the guardrail," announcing Eunbi's death. On the day of the accident, rain fell across the country, and the sudden news brought tears to many.
Particularly, as Eunbi's lifelong wish of reaching "No. 1 on the music chart" became known, the entire idol fandom began an infinite streaming relay of Ladies' Code's 'I'm fine thank you.' The song even rose to the top of the charts, fulfilling "Eunbi's last wish."
At the funeral held two days later, family members, colleagues, agency officials, and fans attended to bid farewell to the deceased in tears. Members Ashley and Juni, who attended with neck braces, along with Sojung, whose birthday was the same day, remained by the side in shock and sadness. Every year, on the anniversary of Eunbi's death and her birthday, Sojung receives both congratulations and comfort from fans.
Eunbi left the world at the young age of 21, but her bright smile on stage and confident energy remain in the memories of many. Even after 10 years, Eunbi continues to exist as a precious 'star' in the hearts of her fans.
