Singer Yoo Eun-sung, who is battling brain cancer, revealed his hospital life and current situation.
On the 2nd, Yoo Eun-sung posted several photos and a lengthy message on his SNS, stating, "Smart hospital life. Some of you may have been surprised that I haven't been in touch for a while. I'm sorry. The truth is that the bone in my right shoulder has grown into the tendon, causing it to become partially severed, so I had to undergo emergency surgery to scrape the bone away."
He continued, "If the tendon is severed, a restoration surgery will be necessary, but there's a benign bone tumor near the bone in my right arm where the screw needs to be inserted for that surgery, which may complicate the restoration procedure. So, following the doctor's advice that it would be better to undergo bone surgery before the tendon is completely severed, I stopped all my schedules and situations and was hospitalized on August 25th after finishing my summer activities. Today, I was discharged after 8 days and 9 nights in the hospital following the surgery."
Yoo Eun-sung said, "I couldn't use my right hand, so I stopped all forms of communication, including phone calls, texts, KakaoTalk, and emails, and focused solely on treatment and rehabilitation in the hospital, so I haven't been in touch for a while." He added, "I apologize to those who may have worried about me. Even after being discharged, I'm expected to remain out of touch until mid-September."
Yoo Eun-sung concluded, "The surgery went very well. It is said that it will take 4 months to fully recover. However, I have many scheduled commitments starting from September 12th, so I plan to continue with my schedule. I would appreciate your prayers."
Yoo Eun-sung also shared photos taken with his wife, actress Kim Jeong-hwa, and their two children during his hospital stay. Wearing a hospital gown, he also took pictures with the hospital doctors and nurses.
Yoo Eun-sung married Kim Jeong-hwa in 2013 and has two sons with her. He revealed that he was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2023, receiving much support.
