SBS will completely withdraw from the OTT platform Wavve, which supports rewatching programs from the three major terrestrial broadcasters.
According to a notice from Wavve on the 1st, SBS's live broadcasting and VOD services will end at 9 a.m. on September 30.
On that day, Wavve noted, "Popular programs from the SBS affiliate channels, such as 'I Am SOLO' and 'I Am SOLO, Love Continues After That,' will still be available for viewing, so please make sure to use those services."
As a result, SBS programs will be completely removed from Wavve. The SBS affiliate channels available for viewing on Wavve include SBS Biz, SBS funE, SBS Life, and SBS Plus, with live broadcasts only available through SBS Biz, THE K-POP, and SBS Plus.
Consequently, popular entertainment shows such as SBS's 'Running Man,' 'My Little Old Boy,' 'Dolsing Fourmen,' and popular documentary programs like 'Unanswered Questions' and 'Story of the Day When You Bite Your Tail' will no longer be available on Wavve.
This service termination is a result of SBS having signed an exclusive supply agreement with Netflix last year, and beginning this year, SBS will supply dramas, entertainment, and documentary programs to Netflix for six years and will receive production cost support from Netflix for the duration.
