A 13-year-old elementary school student who received a 'shout-out' from G-Dragon has appeared.
On the 1st, during the KBS Joy program 'Ask Us Anything Fortune Teller' episode 331, a storyteller shared that they have been struggling with a sense of loss after losing their daughter, who was like a friend, three years ago.
That day, they recalled their relationship with their daughter, saying, "We were very much like friends. We went on many new cafe tours. Since I divorced early, she quit college to help me and got a job right away."
They continued, "My daughter said she had a stomach ache in 2021, so we went to the hospital, and they told us to go to a bigger hospital. When we did tests, we found out she had stage four stomach cancer. She was too young. She was twenty-four years old. I never thought this would happen. They said they couldn't do surgery, so she only underwent chemotherapy, but by then, it had already metastasized to her peritoneum, and we tried to treat it, resulting in three surgeries. Nevertheless, there was no effect."
The storyteller said, "The hospital said she had ten months to live, but she fought for exactly one year before passing away," adding, "We were so close like friends, so losing her feels like losing something priceless," while getting emotional.
Hearing this, Seo Jang-hoon noted, "The reason it's still difficult even after three years is because of guilt. I'm her mother. Just the fact that I'm living after losing such a young daughter must weigh heavily on my heart," as he wiped away tears. Lee Sugeun also empathized, saying, "Even smiling or being happy may feel like something to be cautious about. How can a mother bury her child in her heart?"
Seo Jang-hoon continued, "It's not anyone's fault, is it? Who would have known? The most important thing is to think about how your daughter would want you to live. She would probably wish for you to live happily. You need to live with that heart. Without that, you can't live because of the guilt," he encouraged, while Lee Sugeun added, "You're still young and full of vitality, so you should live as though your daughter is watching over you from above. Don't hide away."
Additionally, the storyteller mentioned that she has a son who got married five years after her remarriage. Seo Jang-hoon remarked, "You have your son, so that's all the more reason you shouldn't be like this. If you keep being upset and suffering, how much will your son watch over you?" encouraging her future by saying the remaining family should at least enjoy life and not look at her with pity.
Meanwhile, on that day's broadcast, two elementary school students who received 'shout-outs' from celebrities appeared. The 13-year-old storyteller revealed having 60,000 followers on social media, which surprised Seo Jang-hoon and Lee Sugeun. This student uploads videos of dances and songs, and G-Dragon left a direct shout-out saying, "Not bad at all?" The video has garnered 17 million views. She expressed concerns about whether she can become "even more famous" beyond her current 60,000 followers.
Accompanying him, the 12-year-old storyteller said, "I do beatboxing and I study a bit too," sharing that he is pondering how to balance the two. He mentioned his favorite beatboxer, Wing, and how a video of him mimicking Wing's song 'Dopamine' became a hot topic after his parents posted it on social media. Wing even directly encouraged him, saying, "How about beatboxing seriously with your brother?" giving him a shout-out and recognition.
In the studio, the two storytellers showcased their talents, and Seo Jang-hoon remarked, "No one knows what will happen in the future," advising, "If you only focus on what you like, it might be hard to fulfill other dreams later on. So right now, work hard at studying and develop your hobbies while enjoying them."
