The husband has been resting for 15 years, but the wife is busy working. Actress Lee Na-young is making a comeback to the small screen after two and a half years.
The production team of the Genie TV original drama "Honor" announced the casting news of Lee Na-young, Jung Eun-chae, and Lee Cheong-a on the 2nd. This is a mystery thriller about three female lawyers who tackle a huge scandal from the past head-on. Lee Na-young, Jung Eun-chae, and Lee Cheong-a are longtime friends who met at university in their 20s and play the role of lawyers at the law firm L&J (Listen and Join), specializing in cases involving female crime victims.
Lee Na-young plays the role of Yoo Na-young, the star lawyer of L&J. Yoo Na-young, known for her excellent eloquence and dazzling appearance, navigates the broadcasting industry and serves as a celebrity lawyer with hundreds of thousands of SNS followers, acting as the firm's external "messenger". This is Lee Na-young's first time acting as a lawyer.
Yoo Na-young is a character who hides wounds and anxieties behind a glamorous appearance for a long time. However, she confronts the shadows of her past that have tormented her unexpectedly. Lee Na-young's intense face, which has never been seen in a drama, is already causing both anticipation and curiosity to explode. This is why there is so much interest in her striking transformation.
Lee Na-young held a modest small wedding in May 2015 in the fields of green barley in Jeongseon, Gangwon Province, the hometown of Won Bin, drawing attention. The following year, she became a mother, giving birth to her first son just seven months after their marriage. Since the couple has kept their daily life mostly private, they are referred to as a "mystery couple."
Meanwhile, Won Bin has been resting from acting since the film "The Man from Nowhere" (2010). The only place to see him is in commercials. Although there have been reports of him being cast in several projects or receiving love calls, none have resulted in confirmed appearances. Fans feel disappointed that he has not made a comeback as an actor for already 15 years.
On the other hand, Lee Na-young has been diversifying her acting activities in the meantime. In July 2017, two years after their marriage, she made her comeback with the film "Beautiful Days," and two years later she brilliantly completed the tvN drama "Romance is a Bonus Book," showcasing the consistent presence of "Actress Lee Na-young." With Lee Jong-seok, she completed a well-made project, capturing both the public and a dedicated fan base.
In 2023, she further broadened her acting spectrum through the Wave original drama "Park Ha-kyung's Travelogue." She even appeared on BTS member Suga's YouTube channel "Soochita (Chill Time with Suga)" to promote "Park Ha-kyung's Travelogue," adding sincerity to the project.
During an interview to commemorate the release of "Park Ha-kyung's Travelogue," Lee Na-young said in response to a question about Won Bin's return, "He is also watching hard. (Won Bin) is interested and feels envious as an actor when he sees good movies. (If a good opportunity arises) he will come out. Please wait a little longer."
Lee Na-young and Won Bin quietly pursue their own paths without any controversies. Lee Na-young is enhancing the variety of entertainment with her unique acting, while Won Bin remains a solidified mystery actor in Korea. Fans continue to send unwavering support and encouragement to the couple.
"Honor" is based on a Swedish drama of the same name. Director Park Geon-ho, who showed sharp awareness and delicate sensibilities through the drama "Good or Bad Dong-jae" is in charge of the direction, and writer Park Ga-yeon, who garnered recognition for her meticulous narrative and genre completeness through the drama "Train," is in charge of the script, solidifying the strong framework of the intense mystery thriller. It will be released through Genie TV and ENA in the first half of 2026.
