BTS Jimin and actor Song Da-eun addressed the rumors surrounding them, directly commenting on the matter.
BIGHIT MUSIC stated on Aug. 31 through an official press release, "We have respected Jimin's privacy and the counterpart mentioned in relation to this, which is why we have not disclosed our position until now. However, due to continuing unfounded speculative reports and rumors, we are inevitably compelled to clarify at least some factual matters."
He continued, "The artist has maintained a fond relationship with the counterpart in the past, but that point was several years ago, and they are not in a relationship currently." He urged, "We request that you refrain from indiscriminate speculation about their private lives. We also sincerely ask that you refrain from actions that could harm the counterpart mentioned alongside the artist."
Recently, on online communities and social media, a personal video posted by Song Da-eun went viral, leading to various speculations about her relationship with Jimin. In response, BIGHIT MUSIC took an official stance to quell the controversy.
This is not the first time rumors about Jimin and Song Da-eun's romantic involvement have surfaced. Last year, Song Da-eun uploaded photos of a BTS T-shirt and an earphone case inscribed with the names 'Jimin·Da-eun' on her social media, only to delete them later, raising questions.
When suspicions arose, Song Da-eun stated, "Ask someone else about the matters concerning a third party," while remaining tight-lipped, but the rumors persisted.
In particular, she publicly revealed some of the hateful comments she received, indicating a firm stance against them. She posted, "If someone intentionally hurts another person, they should be punished," along with a screenshot of the hateful emails, warning, "My lawyer is reading this. You will soon be under police investigation."
Amidst the ongoing speculations, Song Da-eun recently shared a personal video with Jimin on her social media, leading Jimin's agency to step in directly to address the controversy.
Meanwhile, Jimin is currently balancing his solo activities with BTS, receiving continuous love from global fans.
