As Jeong Il-woo begins a business at the cafe warehouse where Jeong In-sun works, the conflict between the two escalated.
In the 8th episode of KBS 2TV's weekend drama "Our Golden Days" (directed by Kim Hyung-seok / written by So Hyun-kyung / produced by Studio Coming Soon, Studio Bom, Monster Union) broadcast on Aug. 31 at 8 p.m., Lee Ji-hyuk (played by Jeong Il-woo), who dreams of a comeback, settled into the cafe where Ji-eun Oh (played by Jeong In-sun) works, and the conflict intensified. The viewership rating for the broadcast that day recorded 16.3% (provided by Nielsen Korea, based on all households nationwide), setting a new record for its highest rating. Additionally, it dominated the overall weekend broadcasts, achieving the number one spot.
In the broadcast that day, Eun-oh was shocked by Ji-hyuk suddenly showing up at the cafe and stating that he would stay for the night. She intended to kick him out the next day, but since Ji-hyuk had already obtained permission from the cafe owner Jeong Hyun-soo (played by Kim Young-a), she had no choice but to back down. The news that Ji-hyuk had returned was quickly conveyed to Park Sung-jae (played by Yoon Hyun-min), who hurried to the cafe to reunite with Ji-hyuk. Ji-hyuk displayed an indifferent attitude, ignoring Sung-jae's concerns, but he asked to keep the news a secret from his family.
Lee Sang-cheol (played by Cheon Ho-jin) secretly worried about his son after taking out an envelope of money Ji-hyuk had left behind. However, upon seeing this, Kim Da-jung (played by Kim Hee-jung) grew anxious that Ji-hyuk might be in a situation with no living expenses, and her suppressed emotions erupted, leading her to head to her parents' house. Noticing this, her father Kim Jang-soo (played by Yoon Joo-sang) was comforting Da-jung when Ji-hyuk's call checked in on her, which allowed Da-jung to finally feel relieved.
Meanwhile, the Lee family sought to find their own paths to a comeback. The youngest, Lee Soo-bin (played by Shin Soo-hyun), asked Sung-jae for help again after a video featuring him recorded high views. Sang-cheol declared to his wife Da-jung that he would challenge himself to get an electrician certification, and although Da-jung initially opposed, she eventually respected his wishes. Also, the second child, Lee Ji-wan (played by Son Sang-yeon), fulfilled his role as a bodyguard and driver for Park Young-ra (played by Park Jeong-yeon) but exploded with frustration at Young-ra's condescending attitude and left. However, remembering that Sung-jae trusted him, he quickly returned to Young-ra, and as he stood by the frightened girl, the two grew closer.
Usually kind, Go Seong-hee (played by Lee Tae-ran) showed a firm side only towards her daughter Young-ra. She meticulously managed everything from Young-ra's appearance to the work she was doing as a substitute for a painter, emphasizing that all actions were for her daughter Young-ra. She even pointed out the perfume smell to her secretary, saying, "Don't pretend as if nothing is wrong," revealing an unexpectedly cold side.
Meanwhile, Ji-hyuk dedicated himself to preparing the business by decorating the cafe warehouse as a serious workspace, bringing in office supplies and household items. However, Eun-oh, who had to confront him every day in the same space, found Ji-hyuk's every action irritating and was uncomfortable, dismissing his business ambition as merely pretentious.
At the end of the broadcast, Ji-hyuk took advantage of the cafe's closing day to break through a wall alone to install a window in the warehouse. Eun-oh, who had come into the cafe for a commissioned job, witnessed that scene and ultimately erupted with all her accumulated frustrations. In the end, Eun-oh declared that she would quit the cafe, making viewers look forward to the exciting next week's broadcast.
Broadcast every Saturday and Sunday at 8 p.m.
