'Marie and the Unusual Dads' is a collaboration between director Seo Yong-soo, who has been recognized for his delicate directorial skills in Drama Special 2023 'Dohyun's Confession' and 'Overlap Knife, Knife', and writer Kim Hong-joo, who has showcased a fluent writing style in human drama genres such as 'Love Even If You Hate' and 'High School Classmates'.
The protagonists of 'Marie and the Unusual Dads' are played by Ha Seung-ri and Hyun-woo. With the addition of the two actors, who possess outstanding acting skills, a solid lineup is completed, and viewers' expectations are already growing.
Ha Seung-ri plays the role of 'Kang Marie', a calm and logical girl who faces challenges. She is a young head of the family living in a complicated household due to her parents' sudden divorce and a constantly troublesome mother. While enduring the busy reality of part-time jobs and studying, she carries a deep longing for her father. After secretly contacting her father for three years, Marie gets caught, leading her into conflict and confronting a shocking truth.
Building on the acting foundation she has developed since her childhood, Ha Seung-ri is expected to add empathy to Marie's complex emotional experiences. As she has become a 26-year veteran actress, expectations are high for her performance in 'Marie and the Unusual Dads.' In particular, there is curiosity about the chemistry she will create with the male lead Lee Kang-se and the three unexpected fathers, along with the family that Marie loves.
Hyun-woo has been cast as 'Lee Kang-se,' Marie's senior in medical school and a kind and warm boyfriend, and he will deliver a passionate performance. He has grown up as an illegitimate child of his father's outside affair, carrying scars from his growth process, but he respects his older brother and has grown up maturely. Having had a crush on Marie since medical school, he conveys his clumsy but sincere feelings and dreams of a romantic relationship. However, he gets caught up in an unexpected fate and reaches a new turning point.
Hyun-woo, who is taking on a daily drama for the first time with this work, is an actor who has proven his acting skills in various genres such as 'The Fine Line', 'The Tailors', and 'Flower Scholar's Love Story'. His natural ability to embody characters and stable acting have captivated viewers, and attention is focused on what kind of chemistry he will show with Ha Seung-ri.
Meanwhile, 'Marie and the Unusual Dads' will premiere in October as a follow-up to 'Catch Your Luck.'
