The venue for Kim Jong-kook's marriage announcement has been revealed.
On the Aug. 31 broadcast of SBS's 'Running Man,' actors Jang Dong-yoon and Kim Ah-young appeared as guests to compete in a couple's race.
Coincidentally, the recording date was the 18th, the day Kim Jong-kook announced his marriage for the first time.
Ji Seok-jin said, "Who is getting married? Are you getting married? What concept are you doing on YouTube? You're the bride, right? Is it going in that kind of concept?" showing his suspicion, while Song Ji-hyo noted, "I'm really touched," adding, "I was so happy that I saved the (wedding date)." On the other hand, Yang Se-chan and Ha Ha were so shocked that they couldn't speak, and Yoo Jae-suk also said, "I thought it was a joke right now," looking bewildered.
Kim Jong-kook said, "It happened. I'm getting married," and added, "I'm going to get married now. I will live well and work hard," as he greeted them.
Still, he promised, "I will somehow move the recording schedule. Jong-kook will definitely do it. I also think you don't have to worry," while his close friend Ha Ha also emphasized, "I have to go no matter what." Ji Seok-jin exclaimed, "Wow, that's amazing. If you were born earlier, you should have been a independence fighter. You kept quiet until just before and didn't say anything," in admiration, and Yang Se-chan reflected on past suspicious activities, saying, "But when you moved in the middle, many communities had a hint."
Yoo Jae-suk also mentioned, "We joked among ourselves. We thought Jong-kook was odd," recalling the previous episode where Ji Seok-jin suspected, "Aren't you getting married?" Kim Jong-kook stated, "I showed a lot of signs. If I released an article on another day, it would probably seem like I would hang a banner on 'Running Man' and do that," revealing why he kept it a secret. Then Yoo Jae-suk said, "You told us to be 'quiet,' but on 'My Little Old Boy' you disclosed your house and shyly said 'Shh,' wouldn't that person come?" displaying his disappointment. Kim Jong-kook firmly denied, saying, "That's absolutely not true."
Meanwhile, Kim Jong-kook had harbored resentment towards Ha Ha, who had hidden the marriage from him till the end, saying he would inform him through an article. He confessed, "I actually didn't want to tell him till the end," adding, "I felt a lot of betrayal then." Ha Ha promised, "Our meat restaurant will do well, don't worry. I'll help with the living expenses," but Kim Jong-kook responded, "Your older sister dislikes you the most," revealing that Ha Ha is on the 'blacklist,' which elicited laughter.
Speculation continued about the identity of the bride-to-be. Ji Seok-jin asked, "Do I know the person?" Kim Jong-kook replied, "It's someone you don't know. They are not from the entertainment industry." Ha Ha joked, "Aren't you getting married to Chae-yeon, Hyung?" to which Kim Jong-kook responded furiously, "Are you crazy?! That's over! Don't do that anymore. It's over. It can't happen anymore!" blocking any further rumors and fake news.
Then the recording officially started, and Kim Jong-kook reappeared with Ji Seok-jin in women's clothing as planned. Yoo Jae-suk said, "If you don't want to cross-dress, you don't have to do it today," backing him up, but Kim Jong-kook replied, "What are you talking about? I have to work harder today," demonstrating his enthusiasm. Choi Daniel added, "Hyung, I was really surprised that this member didn't know until today," while Ha Ha remarked, "That can happen; if you told me, I would have definitely told everyone, drinking and saying, 'Hey, Jong-kook, he...' and laughing. When the girlfriend's topic came up, I would have made sounds like 'Hmm! Hm!'" inducing laughter through self-reflection.
Hearing this, Ji Ye-eun remarked, "It's so surprising" and mentioned Kim Jong-kook's house before the move, stating, "It was definitely a house without a girlfriend." This was due to Ji Ye-eun shaking her head upon seeing Kim Jong-kook's shocking 'bag house.' Ha Ha teased, "Doesn't your sister-in-law like plastic bags?" to which Kim Jong-kook replied, "She absolutely dislikes them. She didn't come to my house (so she didn't know)," and added, "Because of that, there was a crisis. After that broadcast, I almost couldn't get married. It was a big deal." However, he emphasized, "Now I vacuum every day," highlighting the changes after moving.
Afterward, guests Jang Dong-yoon and Kim Ah-young appeared, pairing up to play the couple's race game. However, Ji Ye-eun, who was eyeing a love line with Jang Dong-yoon, was blocked by Kim Jong-kook's interruption, and even though she became a couple with Yoo Jae-suk, she continued to flirt with Jang Dong-yoon during the meal. During this, the conversation turned to Jang Dong-yoon's ideal type, and although Ji Ye-eun mentioned that she does not like exercising, she quickly changed her response to, "I like (working out)" when hearing that Jang Dong-yoon enjoys it.
In response, Kim Jong-kook retorted, "Why do you like a guy who doesn't exercise?" and Ha Ha suddenly posed a surprise question about the bride-to-be, asking, "Does she exercise well?" Kim Jong-kook replied, "She's completely different from me. Totally the opposite," while adding, "As long as she doesn't get carried away, it's fine." Then Ji Seok-jin asked Jang Dong-yoon, "Do you really have a girlfriend?" and Kim Jong-kook chided, "Even if I do, would I say that? Why are you asking such unnecessary questions?" Yoo Jae-suk bluntly asked, "Did Jong-kook say anything about getting married until last week?" while Ha Ha expressed, "I was preparing to introduce Jong-kook's girlfriend. I should do it for Sung-kyung...This is perfect, really..." revealing his still lingering surprise at Jong-kook's marriage.
While moving to the next race location, Ji Ye-eun noted, "I heard you uploaded a handwritten letter and a news article. It was said that senior Jong-kook wrote a handwritten letter?" indicating that Kim Jong-kook's marriage had been officially reported.
Additionally, while having a meal, Yoo Jae-suk suggested to Kim Jong-kook, "How about giving a large body pillow that's on display in front of the fancy shop as a wedding gift?" Ha Ha remarked, "There won't be a chance for Jong-kook to hug something like this anymore," and Yoo Jae-suk reflected, "I now recall one by one as I think back. Didn't he buy a lot of key chains?" remembering Kim Jong-kook's recent interest in cute items. He noted, "Look back at 'Running Man.' At some point, he really liked cute things" and added, "When I went to Ye-eun's house, why did we talk so much about wallpaper and suddenly about props? She is not someone who's particularly interested in such matters," sharing an epiphany.
Moreover, during the meal, Yoo Jae-suk challenged Kim Jong-kook, asking, "Are you shooting that on 'My Little Old Boy'? Are you filming things like going to look at furniture and that?" Kim Jong-kook emphasized, "I'm not filming! I won't do it!" Yoo Jae-suk questioned again, "So are you moving to 'My Little Old Boy' from 'Dongsanghong'? 'Jim Jong-kook' will appear, right?" Kim Jong-kook reiterated, "No, that's not happening! Family is family and my work is my work," clearly indicating that he has no plans to reveal the bride-to-be.
