Singer and actress Son Dam-bi shed tears while reminiscing about her daughter Ha-ei's newborn days.
On the 29th, a video titled "Queen Bee returns after 3 years, but mom's tears overflowed..." was uploaded to the 'Dam-bi Son' channel.
That day, Son Dam-bi introduced the books 'Adult Literacy', 'Adult Vocabulary Study', and a fairy tale book titled "We Always Meet Again" to read to her daughter Ha-ei, saying, "I have been reading these two recently."
She revealed, "I bought this and I cried reading it. I mean... this is not just sad but resonates so much with me. I cried a lot."
Son Dam-bi expressed, "I don't think I can read this to the baby. I feel like I will cry while talking about it too," and began to read a portion of the book, adding, "This is so that people who buy it won't find it boring, so just a bit."
She read from the book, saying, "'Mom is waiting for you now. I'm waiting for you to come home after spending a night away from me with your teacher and friends, and memories from a long time ago are flooding back.' So, the picture shows a baby coming out of kindergarten. When the baby was born, 'When you were a child, I could not easily leave your side while you were sleeping. Even if I left, I would soon come back and listen to your breathing. I was afraid of what might happen to you while I wasn't watching.'" She suddenly became overwhelmed with emotion and burst into tears.
In response, Son Dam-bi said, "I'm getting teary again. Isn't it funny?" and continued, "No, it resonates so much. This captures the feelings from when the baby was little through to when they grew up, but I still have a young baby and don't remember very well. I couldn't leave the side of the sleeping baby. Because I kept thinking, 'Are they alive?' and I would check their breathing. They slept so soundly, and I was afraid of what might happen while I wasn't watching. I remember worrying about whether anything would happen to the baby."
She continued, "These days, I'm playing peekaboo with the baby. Ha-ei laughs a lot. Now is the time for that. I think she understands that 'mom is playing with me.' This book describes those moments, and while it's sad, I'm not crying just because it's sad—I don't know what this feeling is. But this book is definitely worth it. If there are people with babies, I think reading this will be really great. Even rereading it feels so relatable." She added, "I don't think I can read this to the baby. I feel like I would break down crying while reading it."
She remarked, "I feel like my vocabulary and literacy are getting better these days, and if I study this more, I think I'll be able to express myself better when acting or speaking. Anyway, to our supporters, if there are any parents, I really recommend this book. I like the vocabulary book, and if anyone feels that's lacking, this book is also good. I think this book would be really good for those with babies."
