Actor Kim Hee-ae joined the '80's Seoul Music Festival' as 'How Do You Play?' garnered attention for its unprecedented lineup.
In the MBC entertainment show 'How Do You Play?' aired on the 30th, the entire cast gathered to perform 1980s songs selected by the viewers for the '80's Seoul Music Festival.' From actor and trot singer Park Young-kyu, who is starting a new life, to Park Myung-soo, who has created legendary hit songs in every Infinite Challenge music festival, the cast members were thrilled each time a song from the 1980s was revealed.
Ha Dong-kyun and Jung Seung-hwa performed Lee Moon-sae's 'If You Stand Under the Shade of a Tree' in their own unique styles. Although the heat had not yet dissipated, their voices evoked a strong sense of the coming autumn.
The song most wanted to hear again ranked first was Yoo Jae-ha's 'Because I Love You.' All the singers who heard Yoo Jae-ha's name could only admire it. From Lee Juck to Wooz and Jo Yuri, anyone involved in the music industry would perceive Yoo Jae-ha as a poet of popular music.
Yoo Jae-seok introduced the song, saying, "This song was released in 1987, but it is originally a remake of a track included in Jo Yong-pil's album from 1985." Lee Juck added, "It was sung in a rock version during Jo Yong-pil's time," and continued, "Yoo Jae-ha's song does not have any vocal vibration, does it? When I heard it from the MBC radio producers, they said it sounded like vocal deficiency. However, Jeon In-kwon also faced similar issues, and it's said that the president of his agency persuaded to resolve the issue."
Yoo Jae-seok, Joo Woo-jae, and Ha Ha became staff members to gather for the '80's Seoul Music Festival' stage. Each took on their roles as producers and writers, and as they held meetings, they scheduled an important meeting where Yoo Jae-seok and Ha Ha took action.
In a uniquely styled café with sunlight streaming into a glass greenhouse terrace, actress Kim Hee-ae appeared. Dressed in a white T-shirt and white pants, carrying only a small bag made of rattan, Kim Hee-ae shone brightly in the café, despite her simple look.
Ha Ha exclaimed, "It's so luxurious," and added, "What can I do if it's just classy and not a big deal?" An embarrassed Kim Hee-ae replied, "This is cheap," but Yoo Jae-seok countered, "Regardless of whether it's cheap or expensive, it's just that it's Kim Hee-ae wearing it that makes it classy," naturally complimenting her.
Kim Hee-ae could not be left out of the 1980s music scene. Having gone through everything from debuting to hosting and appearing in dramas, she also released songs. Kim Hee-ae noted, "Lee Moon-sae and Yoo Jae-ha come to mind," to which Yoo Jae-seok replied, "Those are the people the viewers thought of." Kim Hee-ae expressed, "I don't know much about music, but I'm happy that I thought of the same people as the viewers."
Yoo Jae-seok said, "While we invited you because you were a top star in the 1980s, we need someone to carry out this project and host it. After much deliberation, I thought it would be good if you could host it since we couldn't find a host." Kim Hee-ae hesitated a bit but graciously accepted the offer, hinting at an unprecedentedly luxurious retro music festival.
