In 'My Little Old Boy,' Jo Hyun-ah revealed her family history, moving viewers with her unique father-daughter love.
On the 31st, Jo Hyun-ah appeared on the SBS entertainment show 'My Little Old Boy' (hereafter referred to as My Little Old Boy).
That day, Jo Hyun-ah was depicted visiting her father, tenderly taking care of him. He is actually a former police officer. Jo Hyun-ah organized various parcels and stuffed animals she won from a claw machine together with her father.
Jo Hyun-ah jokingly asked her father, "Dad, do you have a lot of money? Should I give you some?" Her father replied, "Not really; it's up to you to give me more," and added that he would spend wisely. Jo Hyun-ah laughed, saying, "Just spend freely," to which her father chuckled, saying, "You need to spend it wisely; can you just spend it freely?"
Jo Hyun-ah expressed her gratitude to her father, saying, "I've always been thankful to my father throughout my school years. When I wanted a costly flute in elementary school, my dad bought me the instrument, and I remember it vividly." She mentioned that when her mother opposed her pursuing jazz and becoming a singer, it was only her father who supported her. Her father was the one who would always take her to school and go to work afterward.
Her father smiled, recalling, "When you just got accepted into university, your mother couldn't say a word." Jo Hyun-ah, with tears in her eyes, said, "My dad, who picked me up, is truly admirable for his diligence; despite living together for nearly 30 years, he has never scolded me. It's so respectable and truly amazing," overcoming emotions she teared up.
Above all, that day she brought up her mother, who passed away suddenly five years ago due to illness. Jo Hyun-ah said, "He has taken care of my wonderful dad and mom with utmost devotion." Her father also shared that he often revisits places he went with her mother.
When Jo Hyun-ah asked, "Did mom leave any words behind?" her father replied, "When she came home briefly, she told us to adjust our lives for you guys," particularly recalling, "When things got tough later, I cried a lot when she said, 'Honey, please save me.'" Jo Hyun-ah reassured her father, saying, "You did your best." While trying to smile, she added, "We are here."
Earlier, Jo Hyun-ah noted, "Dad is a stepfather," stating, "After my mother passed away five years ago, I have been living with my stepfather. I lost my biological father early in childhood." She mentioned that her biological father passed away when she was 5 years old. Jo Hyun-ah stated, "My parents lived together for 30 years; my father helped a lot with studying to fulfill my dream and raised me in place of my biological father," which sparked discussions.
