Actress Kim Hee-ae will appear on the '80's Seoul Music Awards' thanks to the encouragement of Yoo Jae-suk and Haha.
On the 30th, the MBC entertainment program 'What Do You Do When You Play?' featured the cast gathering for the '80's Seoul Music Awards.' The appearance of singers spanning all eras, including Park Young-kyu, Jo Yuri, Woods, Lee Jeok, Park Myung-soo, Ha Dong-kyun, Jung Sung-hwa, and Jannabi's Choi Jeong-hoon, could only excite viewers. From veteran actor Park Young-kyu to Park Myung-soo, the main character of the much-discussed Infinite Challenge Music Festival, and Jo Yuri and Woods, hitmakers familiar to the MZ generation, as well as legends like Lee Jeok, Ha Dong-kyun, and Jung Sung-hwa, the lineup was more splendid than ever.
They gathered and expressed their surprise at the plans for LP production. While chatting intimately and building the atmosphere, they took turns revealing songs reminiscent of the 1980s as chosen by viewers.
The 2nd place was Lee Moon-sae's 'If You Stand Under the Birch Tree.' It was a song that, though simple, conveyed a poignant, lyrical feeling without being overly sentimental, making one feel as if they were immediately transported back to the 1980s.
Ha Dong-kyun and Jung Sung-hwa sang Lee Moon-sae's 'If You Stand Under the Birch Tree.' The harmony between musical actor Jung Sung-hwa and Ha Dong-kyun was quite impressive. With Choi Jeong-hoon joining them, a wonderful stage was completed.
The coveted 1st place was Yoo Jae-ha's 'Because I Love You.' It was a song that one could immediately hum just by hearing the title. Lee Jeok noted, "When it was Jo Yong-pil's turn, it was sung in a rock version," adding, "Yoo Jae-ha's song has no vocal vibrato, right? When I heard it from MBC radio producers, they said it sounded like poor singing. But Jeon In-kwon experienced that too, so his agency's president persuaded him, and that was resolved," he said, further impressive with, "These days, every song that ranks 1st is sung like this. Yoo Jae-ha was ahead of his time by 40 years," leaving everyone in awe.
Yoo Jae-suk met with Haha for a special meeting. It was a meeting with actress Kim Hee-ae. Kim Hee-ae, dressed in a neat bob and matching white outfit, held a rattan bag. Haha repeatedly praised her elegance. Yoo Jae-suk said, "Haha likes this kind of sophistication," and Kim Hee-ae humbly responded, "I appreciate your kind words, even though there's nothing special about me."
Yoo Jae-suk complimented Kim Hee-ae's atmosphere, saying, "It felt like I came to the lobby of an Italian hotel to scout talent." A shy Kim Hee-ae asked, "How old are you, Haha?" Haha replied, "I'm 47." Kim Hee-ae expressed her surprise, saying, "You look like you're in your 30s," to which Haha earnestly said, "You look like you're in your 30s too," making Kim Hee-ae happy.
They reminisced about the 1980s. Yoo Jae-suk said, "Kim Hee-ae is the pioneer of all-round entertainment. She was the MC for 'Saturday Saturday Is Fun' and the 'Teen Singer Music Festival.'" Kim Hee-ae was quite embarrassed. Yoo Jae-suk continued, "You always look great. Kyung-eun says you look amazing on TV. She says she wants to be like you," offering more compliments. He then added, "While we want to invite you because you were a top star in the 1980s, we need someone to lead this project on. So after careful consideration, since we couldn't scout a host, we thought, why not ask you?"
Then Kim Hee-ae said, "I only hosted until recently for MBC 'Giving New Life to Children' and stopped there," adding, "I like being an MC. I'm glad to see Yoo Jae-suk and Haha after a long time," which made everyone cheer.
