On the 27th, Cho Sae-ho uploaded a photo with Bill Gates Foundation chairman and Yoo Jae-suk on social media with the caption, "With Bill Gates, my friend." The photo was a snapshot taken during the recent recording of tvN's 'You Quiz On The Block.'
However, the comment section of the post was flooded with baseless conspiracy theory reactions, including "So, will you get vaccinated?" and "Kill Gates is scary."
As the controversy grew, Cho Sae-ho temporarily disabled the comment feature, only to reopen it later, resulting in an amusing incident.
In fact, this is not the first time such reactions have occurred. Previously, when the production team of 'You Quiz' announced, "Really! Bill Gates is coming!" the comment section of the official account was filled with ridiculous negative comments such as "Is he coming to sell vaccines?" and "Yoo Jae-suk's stance is clear."
Some netizens remarked, "Why are the comments like this?" but comments dragging in political tones also followed.
Meanwhile, Bill Gates mentioned in a lecture in 2015, before the outbreak of COVID-19, that "a virus that will cause more than 10 million deaths will emerge in the coming decades," and stated, "To preserve the Earth, we must significantly reduce the global population."
During the COVID-19 pandemic, some conspiracy theorists raised suspicions that "Bill Gates intends to implant microchips in humans using vaccines." As the conspiracy theories emerged, Bill Gates refuted these claims multiple times through local media interviews, stating, "All COVID-19 conspiracy theories related to me are false."
