Actor Lee Hyo-jung revealed a stark contrast in opinions with his wife, Kim Mi-ran. On the 30th, a real-life glimpse into the couple's daily life was shared during the MBN broadcast of "Healing Show Dongchimi" under the theme, "It's a relief if we don't fight."
Lee Hyo-jung stated, "I always lived in a bustling environment, and now we finally have our independence as a couple," sharing the story of their recent move from a 60-pyeong to a 30-pyeong apartment. Although he attempted to directly resolve issues from the somewhat awkward sight of the washing machine placed in the room to the problem of curtain lengths, his wife Kim Mi-ran expressed her dissatisfaction, stating, "You don't even listen to me."
Lee Hyo-jung revealed, "My wife dislikes going into the kitchen after menopause, so I had no choice but to take on cooking duties." However, when his wife returned home, she criticized him, saying, "Why have you made so much?" Lee Hyo-jung expressed, "It used to feel like affectionate whining, but now it just sounds like nagging."
Conflicts continued during the moving process. Kim Mi-ran insisted, "We should throw everything away and buy new things to fit the smaller space. The kids also said to 'throw everything out,'" showing a firm stance, while Lee Hyo-jung moved most of the furniture as is. No Sa-yeon empathized, stating, "It's as if the hopes of a wife dreaming of a new beginning have crumbled."
The core of the conflict lay in Lee Hyo-jung's "secondhand trading hobby." He was assertive, stating, "Don't interfere with what I do in my own room," yet Kim Mi-ran expressed her disbelief, saying, "I can't understand bringing home cushions and pillows that others have used. It was so difficult that I even thought about divorce." Currently, three of the four rooms in the couple's house are filled with Lee Hyo-jung's belongings.
Kim Mi-ran said, "I have taken care of my mother-in-law and raised three children for 30 years. Now I want to live more lightly," while Lee Hyo-jung insisted, "I want to keep my hobbies," leading to a confrontation.
Although Lee Hyo-jung is known as a "manly man," he revealed deep concerns in the face of real marital conflict. Kim Mi-ran drew a line, stating, "Absolutely no restrictions on secondhand trading," momentarily freezing the studio atmosphere.
Meanwhile, Lee Hyo-jung married Kim Mi-ran in 1990 and they have one son and two daughters. Their son, Lee Yu-jin, is currently active as an actor.
