Tony An of the group H.O.T. shared his feelings ahead of the long-awaited activities of the complete team.
On the morning of the 31st, Tony An grants various stories on KBS Radio Cool FM's 'Park Myung Soo's Radio Show.'
Park Myung Soo mentioned his connection with H.O.T., saying, "Since I am from the first generation of SM, we shared the same rice pot. I saw them before their debut. It was about 30 years ago. I was practicing in the MBC practice room when Lee Soo Man brought them in as a new team. The producer wanted to see them, so the members came dressed nicely."
In response, Tony An said, "Were you there? I was so nervous. It was an audition in front of the station's producer. I was the most nervous, but I didn't know that my senior was there."
Park Myung Soo said, "All the members had dark faces. They were all wearing black clothes, looking like people. It was such a new character. There hadn't been a singer like that until then. They were dancing, and I couldn't close my mouth. I was shocked. I was stunned to see such a sensational appearance. I thought, 'Is this pop music?' I realized how incredible CEO Lee Soo Man's instinct was. I still remember that time."
Tony An explained about how he debuted with H.O.T., saying, "After graduating from school in the U.S., I was looking for a job and saw an audition ad, so I applied. My dream was to be a singer," adding, "The representative who answered the phone had a good conversation with me. Right away, Soo Man came to the U.S. and introduced me. I auditioned alongside Andy of Shinwa, and we both passed. I unreasonably achieved my dream. I danced and sang at auditions. I went to the karaoke and sang a song and danced with a portable boombox in the park."
Regarding H.O.T.'s hit song 'Candy,' he said, "It's a song that gave me the greatest wealth and honor. It seems like a good song no matter when I hear it. As soon as I heard it, I thought it was a hit. It was written by a composer I liked. I thought it was great," adding, "However, the members all said that the title track was 'The Warrior's Descendant.'"
Additionally, H.O.T. is set to perform as the headliner at the '2025 Hanteo Music Festival' for the first time in six years. Originally, the 'Hanteo Festival' was scheduled to be held on September 6 and 7 at Seoul World Cup Stadium, but the date and venue have changed.
Tony An, who recently revealed a group photo of the members on social media, said, "When we came together and the music played, it was strangely about 90 percent right. I realized we must have practiced really hard," adding, "We had conditions for our debut at that time. While we were sleeping in the early morning, when the manager played a certain part, he said if we matched our moves within three seconds, we would debut. We were constantly in a daze, but one day we finally did it and found that we matched the dance in our sleep. That's how much we practiced."
Regarding the current status of the members, he said, "They all seem to be doing well. Everyone is fine, but since we are getting older, we do face physical limits. Woo Hyuk seems to still be in good shape. It seems like he trains regularly. I think I'm the most physically exhausted."
Tony An, who lived with Kim Jae Deok of Sechs Kies for 15 years until last year, said, "There's a method to living together for a long time. We shouldn't touch each other. If you live alone, it's lonely, so we relied on each other. Honestly, I didn't think we would live this long together," adding, "Now, living alone seems more comfortable. Since it's been so long living alone, the feeling is very different. I talked to Jae Deok not long ago."
