'Big Hit Music rookie' Cortis has shown explosive popularity growth on short-form.
The global short-form video platform TikTok account of Cortis (Martin, James, Juhoon, Seonghyun, Gunho) surpassed 2 million followers around 10 a.m. on the 30th. After reaching 1 million followers on the 13th, it doubled in just 17 days. Notably, Cortis is the only team among boy groups and mixed groups that debuted this year to achieve 2 million followers on TikTok.
The debut album title track 'What You Want' and intro track 'GO!' dance challenge are also popular. Choreography expressing excitement by putting hands inside clothes, along with dance moves that seem to advance forward, are receiving great responses on short-form platforms.
Big Hit Music's team also participated in the dance challenge, drawing attention. 'Big Hit Music's first artist' Lee Hyun, BTS's J-Hope, and TOMORROW X TOGETHER's Yeonjun and Hueningkai joined the Cortis dance challenge to support the 'maknae group.' Notably, even while staying in the U.S. for BTS album work, J-Hope left a message on his personal account with the dance video of 'GO!' saying, 'Hang in there, younger siblings,' showcasing a strong family bond.
In addition, several HYBE artists, including LE SSERAFIM, TWS's Shin Yu and Jihoon, Cats Eye's Daniela and Megan, ANTITM's Kay, Nicholas, Jo, and Maki, participated in the Cortis dance challenge. Famous dancers such as Kirstin from JAM REPUBLIC and Bebe's Bada joined in, further raising the excitement.
Meanwhile, Cortis will release a solo documentary titled 'What We Want' on HYBE Labels' official YouTube channel at 8 p.m. on the 1st of next month. This documentary showcases the production process of the debut album 'COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES,' conducted over more than a year from April of last year to May of this year. The video allows viewers to meet the vivid behind-the-scenes work of the 'Young Creator Crew' that collaborates on music, choreography, and video.
