Girls' Generation member and actress Im Yoon-a spun 360 degrees haphazardly on an empty stomach for "Bon Appetit, Your Majesty."
On the 30th, a short video titled "Yeon Ji-young's wire action challenge" was posted on Im Yoon-a's official social media.
In the video, Yoon-a filmed a scene in which Yeon Ji-young (Im Yoon-a) time slips while riding a magical cloud in episode 1 of the tvN weekend drama "Bon Appetit, Your Majesty." In particular, she hung on a machine that rotates 360 degrees without a stunt double and spun around without hesitation. She also smiled and emphasized towards the staff's camera, "Are you filming? I'll leave this video, even if just briefly. It's definitely not CGI."
Yoon-a's plight was mirrored when the staff noted, "Haven't you been unable to eat since the morning?" Yoon-a explained that she maintained an empty stomach for the shoot to prevent nausea caused by the spinning force, which evoked sympathy.
In response, director Jang Tae-yu, who is directing "Bon Appetit, Your Majesty," cheered on Yoon-a. From behind the camera, he showed two thumbs up towards Yoon-a. In turn, Yoon-a added to the humor, saying, "Please film even the director's thumbs up."
Still, Yoon-a hung onto the apparatus once again. She laughed and said, "With everyone's help, I'm spinning like I'm on a ride. It's manageable," before confidently replying towards the camera, "I'll go again."
Thanks to Yoon-a's efforts, "Bon Appetit, Your Majesty" is sweeping the top rankings for buzz. Following its premiere on the 23rd, it ranked first in the drama buzz sector of the TV-OTT integrated FUNdex released by Good Data Corporation for the week of Aug. 18 to Aug. 24.
In particular, "Bon Appetit, Your Majesty" is currently being made available to global viewers as well as in Korea through Tving and Netflix. According to FlixPatrol, "Bon Appetit, Your Majesty" ranked in the top 10 of TV series in 93 countries where Netflix is available, and it hit the number one spot in 42 of those countries. As a result, it is currently attracting attention as the top Netflix TV series. The records that Yoon-a and "Bon Appetit, Your Majesty" will create are increasingly drawing focus.
"Bon Appetit, Your Majesty" is a survival fantasy romantic comedy drama that occurs when the chef Yeon Ji-young time slips into the past and meets the worst tyrant and owner of a perfect palate, King Lee Heon (Lee Chae-min).
