Webtoon author Park Tae-jun, known for 'Ulzzang Generation,' spoke out about the divorce rumors with his ex-wife Choi Soo-jung.
According to OSEN's coverage on the 28th, Park Tae-jun noted during a currency that "it is true that I divorced Choi Soo-jung. Discussions started early last year, and by August of that year, the divorce mediation was established, and the paperwork has been completed."
He firmly dismissed the speculation raised regarding the 'property division lawsuit.' He said, "That is not true at all. It is not a lawsuit but a mutual divorce. There was no property division lawsuit, and we reached an amicable agreement," explaining the reason for his previous silence by saying, "I did not want to publicize this. It isn't something positive, and I was concerned it might harm the other party."
Park Tae-jun and Choi Soo-jung married in 2020 after a 10-year relationship, but they parted ways after four years. The two had already completed all procedures for a mutual divorce last August.
In addition, with the fact of the divorce, Park Tae-jun's immense wealth is once again drawing attention because he is known to own at least three buildings only in Seoul.
According to past OSEN coverage, the headquarters of the manga company of which he is the representative, The Grim Entertainment, is a four-story building located near Seokchon Station and Songridan-gil in Songpa District, with an estimated value of over 10 billion won.
Additionally, The J Studio, of which Park Tae-jun is the representative, recently purchased a high-value building in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam District, for a staggering 800 billion won, gaining attention. In the process, he took out a loan of approximately 685 billion won, but the building's value still amounts to several hundred billion won. Moreover, he has also acquired a building valued around 200 billion won located in Garosu-gil, Sinsa-dong in 2020, elevating him to the ranks of 'billionaire property owners.'
Meanwhile, after gaining recognition in 2009 through Comedy TV's 'Ulzzang Generation,' Park Tae-jun transformed into a webtoon author, achieving great success. He has written a number of popular works, including 'Appearance-centered Ideology,' 'Self-taught Fighting,' 'Life's Collapse,' 'Quest-centered Ideology,' 'Manager Kim,' 'Hanam-dong K House,' and 'Show Me the Lucky Guy!,' leading the domestic webtoon market.
In a 2020 broadcast of MBC's 'Radio Star,' he revealed, "I am serializing three works simultaneously, and they occupy the top three spots in popularity rankings," and shared that "my days are as busy as if they were 26 hours long," providing a glimpse of his immense workload and popularity. According to the webtoon industry, Park Tae-jun's average annual revenue reportedly exceeds 1 billion won, which is significantly higher than his peer, Kian84, who is also known as a property owner, further drawing attention to Park Tae-jun's 'billionaire wealth.'
