Yoo Joo-eun passed away on Aug. 29, 2022, at the age of 27. At that time, her family shared the sudden news through the late actress' social media, saying, "Joo-eun has left this place and gone to a comfortable place. Those who have the time, please greet her on your way."
In the published letter, the late Yoo Joo-eun expressed concern for her family first. She said, "I'm sorry for going first. Especially to Mom, Dad, Grandma, and my older brother, I'm sorry. Life without me will be empty, but please live bravely. Don't cry. It will hurt your body," conveying her affectionate feelings.
She also confessed, "I really wanted to act. It was my everything and part of me, but living that life wasn't easy. Having something you want is a blessing, but wanting only that is a curse," adding to the sadness.
She said, "I feel like I lived a successful life because I had unforgettable memories. Thank you for embracing and understanding the imperfect me. I am grateful to everyone I was connected with, especially my teachers," leaving her final farewell.
Born in 1995, Yoo Joo-eun debuted in 2018 with the tvN drama "Big Forest" while on a leave of absence from the Korea National University of Arts, and later appeared in TV Chosun's "Joseon Survival." In life, she expressed a desire to build her skills as an actress rather than being a star.
As the news of the late actress broke, fellow actors expressed their condolences. Actress Park Joo-hyun said, "I pray that you can fly freely and beautifully in that world," while Kim Do-wan shared a photo with the late actress, saying, "I hope you smile more and be happier over there. I love you, my friend Joo-eun," conveying his sorrow.
