The dog of the late SHINee member Jonghyun, Rou, has crossed the rainbow bridge.
On the 29th, Jonghyun's sister, Kim So-dam, conveyed the news of his death through Rou's social media, saying, "2010.3.5-2025.8.28 Thank you for being with me all this time, Rou."
Kim So-dam noted, "Thanks to you, I laughed a lot and was able to stay strong. I hope you find peace there. You will always watch over mom and me, right? I will always love you. And I already miss you so much..."
In response, Jonghyun's fans also visited social media, leaving comments such as, "You must have met Jonghyun at the rainbow bridge, right? Thank you for living a good life," "I hope you go to a good place and run more and rest comfortably," "I hope you are happy for a long time with Jonghyun there," and "I will always miss you."
Rou is a dog that Jonghyun gifted to his biological sister. It was reported that Jonghyun expressed concerns about 'breaking communication with family' when he gifted Rou to his sister, indicating a desire to maintain a connection with his family through Rou.
However, after Jonghyun passed away in 2018, his sister, who was raising Rou, reported that she lost Rou in Hongcheon, Gangwon Province, which brought sadness. Fortunately, Rou was found three days later thanks to a tip from a fan.
Meanwhile, Jonghyun debuted with the group SHINee in 2008 and was loved for releasing several hit songs such as 'Replay', 'Juliette', 'Lucifer', 'Breath', 'Ring Ding Dong', 'Sherlock', and 'View'. He passed away in 2017.
