On the 25th, the production team of tvN's 'Handsome Guys' (directed by Ryu Ho-jin, Yoon In-hye, Lee Seung-hwan; hereafter 'Handsomez') stated that "'Handsomez' will undergo a major renewal. The transformed 'Handsomez,' along with a new concept, is scheduled to meet viewers starting in September."
Premiering in December last year, 'Handsomez' has captured the hearts of a solid base of viewers with the charming character play and strong chemistry showcased by entertainment veterans Cha Tae-hyun, Kim Dong-hyun, and Lee Yi-kyung, along with newcomers Shin Seung-ho and Oh Sang-wook, providing delightful moments of laughter. In fact, the broadcast on August 14 achieved a Nielsen Korea rating of 3.3% in metropolitan households and 2.1% among viewers aged 20 to 49, maintaining its No. 1 rating in viewership among cable and general programming channels for that demographic and establishing itself as a rising contender among Thursday night entertainment programs.
Riding this momentum, 'Handsomez' will greet viewers with new content starting from episode 39, which will air on September 4. The revamped 'Handsomez' will utilize an imaginative concept titled 'What if Handsomez had nothing?' wherein five men, flaunting their perfection in acting and sports, find themselves in unimaginable situations of deficiency and navigate everything from laughter to games to teamwork in their 'survival lifestyle.'
In such circumstances of 'lack,' the anticipated humor and the well-cultivated chemistry of the five members of 'Handsomez' are expected to amplify the entertainment synergy. Among them, Cha Tae-hyun is poised to become the steadfast elder brother, Kim Dong-hyun is set to emerge as an instinct-driven fighter, and Lee Yi-kyung is likely to shine as the self-proclaimed strategist. Furthermore, Shin Seung-ho is expected to showcase the charms of a perfectly adapted entertainer, while Oh Sang-wook is anticipated to deliver unabashedly delightful laughter with his physical prowess against the 'lack.'
