Recently, Shim Gwon-ho appeared on the YouTube channel 'Burger Hyung,' hosted by actor Park Hyo-jun. In this case, the current status of Shim Gwon-ho, who is hard to find in his prime days, evoked pity.
Shim Gwon-ho is a sports hero who won a gold medal in Greco-Roman wrestling at the 27th Sydney Olympics in 2000. Since then, he has appeared in multiple entertainment shows and gained popularity, receiving national love.
He has also faced controversies due to his high popularity. In a 2021 episode of MBN's entertainment program 'Special Report World,' he expressed his frustration regarding rumors of alcohol dependency, stating, "The rumors have arisen strangely."
Amid this, Shim Gwon-ho's current status has been revealed through YouTube. His seemingly dark complexion drew both concern and curiosity. Consequently, the voices of internet users worried about Shim Gwon-ho's health and circumstances have increased.
In this context, his student Yoon Hee-seong, who is currently learning wrestling from Shim Gwon-ho, revealed his master's current status through social media. He particularly noted, "I am living with my master like family. Various nonsensical rumors are circulating on the internet. My master, Shim Gwon-ho, is receiving support from me, which is several times greater than what the nation provides. He is not financially struggling, cannot be struggling, and is doing well."
He also emphasized, "There are various reasons why the complexion is not good, but I hope you think of it largely as the glorious traces of training harder than anyone in the past."
As that post garnered attention, Yoon Hee-seong once again informed about Shim Gwon-ho's current status. He stated, "I met many people and also conversed over the weekend regarding my master. I will be more cautious in my actions and words to ensure that my master's reputation is not tarnished."
Furthermore, he said, "There have been various disturbances this time, and I am correcting them one by one. While it may not be easy to take legal action in the space of YouTube, there are more capable individuals than me who have come to help, so I want to hurry and address this. I will try to respect and understand all activities of the YouTubers as much as possible since it is their job. So, I will attempt to reach out to acquaintances or send emails to request the deletion of those posts. If it remains difficult, I will proceed with actions later. Although it may be challenging to catch all the negative comments, I plan to properly handle one or two individuals as examples related to rumors and negative comments regarding my master Shim Gwon-ho."
