Singer-songwriter Song So-hee has been selected as 'Traditional Music Artist of the Year.'
Song So-hee received a total of 879,508 votes at the '2025 Brand Awards,' the largest domestic brand awards ceremony that selects the brand of the year through a nationwide consumer vote, winning in the 'Traditional Music Artist' institutional sector.
Song So-hee stated, "I am honored and happy to be selected as a traditional music artist at the '2025 Brand Awards.' Although the music I create and perform these days is not strictly traditional, I am grateful to have received this award as my deep roots remain unchanged. I hope to see more new faces nominated in the traditional music artist institutional sector in the future, and once again, thank you."
Having engaged in Gyeonggi folk song activities since childhood, Song So-hee has grown into a representative traditional music artist of Korea. Not stopping there, she has expanded into countless genres through new musical challenges and concerns, firmly establishing her identity as a 'modern music singer-songwriter' in the public eye.
In particular, she recently completed a solo concert with all seats sold out and has been officially invited to major domestic festivals such as the '2025 Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival' and the '2025 Jeonju World Sound Festival,' as well as the largest music festival in Europe, the 'Donauinselfest,' actively performing both domestically and internationally.
With a journey of music that transcends genre boundaries based on the resonance of tradition, Song So-hee's musical journey is expected to continue, as she plans to engage with fans across various festivals, including 'Sound Planet 2025' on September 14.
