KBS 2TV's Wednesday drama 'My Girlfriend is the Man' left viewers with heavy hearts due to its emotional ending, where Yoon San-ha and Yoo Jung-hoo succumbed to a harsh fate.
In the 11th episode aired on the 27th, KBS 2TV's Wednesday drama 'My Girlfriend is the Man' (written by Lee Hae-na, directed by Yoo Kwan-mo), Kim Ji-eun (Arin) who revealed her identity to Kang Min-joo (Chu) transforms back into Kim Ji-hoon (Yoo Jung-hoo), facing a catastrophic situation head-on with Kim Ji-hoon and Park Yoon-jae (Yoon San-ha).
First, Park Yoon-jae went to buy the carp bread that Kim Ji-eun liked and headed to her house. When Kim Ji-eun confessed that Kang Min-joo learned about her secret and earnestly prayed, 'Please let me live only as Kim Ji-eun from now on,' he quietly empathized with her feelings. However, after dozing off, Park Yoon-jae woke up to find that Kim Ji-eun had transformed back into Kim Ji-hoon, and Kim Ji-hoon was upset to see he had once again become a man.
Meanwhile, Kang Min-joo, who was bewildered by Kim Ji-eun's story, questioned Park Yoon-jae about the possibility of dating someone whose gender changes. Park Yoon-jae replied, "I guess it's because I have to be okay no matter what. It's okay. I need to protect Ji-eun."
At that moment, Kim Ji-hoon received advice from his best friend Choi Yoo-ri (Park Joo-won) that if he is continuously in a situation where his gender changes, he needs to find a way to become stronger. At the same time, Park Yoon-jae surprised Kang Min-joo by giving up the corning stage to be beside Kim Ji-hoon. Later, while Kim Ji-hoon was tutoring Park Yoon-jae's sister Park Yoon-ah (Lee So-won) for another month, Park Yoon-jae's mother Kim Eun-sook (Jo Eun-sook) fell ill after hearing that her son was dating Kim Ji-hoon. Park Yoon-jae protected Kim Ji-hoon from his angry mother, while deep in thought, Kim Ji-hoon remarked, "I think we have been too easy on everything," and withdrew his hand from Park Yoon-jae, who was trying to take him home, turning away.
Kang Min-joo informed Kim Ji-hoon that Park Yoon-jae had given up on the corning stage and said, "If you really love Yoon-jae oppa, please let him go. I'll take responsibility for the next part," making a strong statement. Kim Ji-hoon exclaimed, "How much longer are you going to make me miserable? I'm already disgusted by myself for shamelessly clinging to you, ruining not only your dreams but also your family!" Ultimately, he resolutely declared, "Let's really break up this time. Please, I beg you," and was left alone crying sorrowfully. After returning home, Park Yoon-jae also broke down when he heard his father Park Il-jo's (Kim Kwang-sik) advice to live as he wishes if he could take responsibility, and he entered his room, silently sobbing in grief.
Afterward, Kim Ji-hoon, who decided to stay at Choi Yoo-ri's house for a while, told Kang Min-joo that he had broken up with Park Yoon-jae and asked him to find a way for Park Yoon-jae to return to the corning stage. Fortunately, Kang Min-joo found a way and encouraged Park Yoon-jae, saying that working elsewhere would make the breakup easier. Ultimately, Park Yoon-jae, resolved to go to the corning stage, submitted the paperwork, and Kang Min-joo celebrated Park Yoon-jae's decision with a drinking party. However, Park Yoon-jae, drunk, tearfully shouted, "Ji-eun ah!" and left in a taxi, later found asleep in front of Kim Ji-eun's house by Kang Min-joo. Concerned for Park Yoon-jae, Kang Min-joo moved him to his house, and when Park Yoon-jae woke up on the sofa in Kang Min-joo's home, he was taken by surprise.
As Park Yoon-jae quietly stepped outside, he was startled to run into Kim Ji-hoon, who was on his way home. He began to explain but Kim Ji-hoon coldly interrupted, "No need to explain. We aren't anything anymore," and went back inside. Stunned, Park Yoon-jae murmured, "Yeah. You and I. We're nothing anymore," and shifted his footsteps with a dark expression. The two, confirming their breakup once again, were both heartbroken, and as Kim Ji-hoon showed tears with his legs trembling, curiosity about the conclusion of their story in the final episode intensified.
