The controversy over the nuisance caused by drama filming seems to continue without end. This time, it involves Suzy and Kim Sun-ho starring in the Disney+ "Hyeonhwak."
Recently, an internet user posted on their personal account, "After filming the drama, they left trash in the forest... Sigh, together with the coffee holder sent by fans..." and then uploaded a video.
The released video shows trash carelessly left in a natural forest in Jeju Island. The user captured the coffee cup holder that fans sent to the cast members and said, "I wonder if the fans know??" and then expressed his incredulity by saying, "I have nothing to say about the trash being thrown in the forest after filming the drama."
He also raised the seriousness of the situation by filming the trash left in the forest, asking, "What kind of drama are they filming?" Notably, some of the footage shows butane canisters also left behind, shocking viewers.
In response, other internet users commented, "What drama is this? I'm really curious. The production team is too much," "I saw them filming early Sunday morning. They left it like this," and "There's still a filming team like this?"
Internet users who viewed the video figured out that the trash was from the filming location of the Disney+ series "Hyeonhwak" based on the photo of the cup holder.
"Hyeonhwak" is set against the backdrop of 1935 Gyeongseong, depicting the story of artist Yoon Lee-ho, who is tasked with painting a portrait of the mysterious woman Song Jeong-hwa, as he uncovers her secrets. Director Han Jae-rim, known for films such as "Elegant World," "The Face Reader," "The King," and "Emergency Declaration," is at the helm.
Suzy plays the role of Song Jeong-hwa, the owner of Nammun Hotel. Song Jeong-hwa is a figure who has not shown herself to the world for over half a century and is surrounded by various suspicions and rumors. Kim Sun-ho plays the painter Yoon Lee-ho, who is commissioned to paint Song Jeong-hwa's portrait. Yoon Lee-ho gradually becomes immersed in her secrets as he encounters the enigmatic Song Jeong-hwa.
"Hyeonhwak" is set to be released in 2026.
