Actor Jin Tae-hyun explained the changes that occurred two months after his thyroid cancer surgery.
On the 28th, the YouTube channel Park Si-eun Jin Tae-hyun Small Television posted a video titled 'Park Si-eun Jin Tae-hyun's pros and cons review two months after thyroid cancer surgery.'
On this day, Jin Tae-hyun talked about the changes that occurred two months after his thyroid cancer surgery.
He noted, "I've really changed a lot. It's been 8 weeks based on the recording," and added, "The wound is still there, and it seems like there's a lump that has formed according to the cut. It looks like I have to live like this."
Regarding the biggest change, he said, "The drawback is my voice, which is lucky because my voice has remained the same. I was able to talk from the day of the surgery in the recovery room. I used to have a low voice, but high notes are a bit difficult. They say this will improve after about 6 months."
He continued, "The second drawback is that the area of the wound is swollen. They cut the right side of my uvula, and you can think of it as being pressed down because of the swelling. You could think that someone is pressing down on my neck at around 5% or less. That feeling is always there. So it's hard when exercising, swallowing, and even breathing is a little hard."
In addition, he mentioned, "Another difficulty is that I need to apply medication to the wound, but I keep forgetting. There have been so many times I've forgotten after getting up and going out. For those who are about to undergo thyroid surgery, make sure to keep it in your car, in your bag, and in your wallet. It's not the first time I've forgotten."
Additionally, regarding advantages, he stated, "I feel emotionally stable. There shouldn't be cancer cells in my body anymore. They could come back or recur, but for now, they're gone. I have a psychological sense of stability knowing that I'm healthy now."
He added, "The second one varies for everyone. This is personal to me. Many people say they feel tired after thyroid cancer surgery, but I no longer feel tired. I must have been under extreme stress about 4 to 5 years ago because I used to feel very tired by 3 or 4 p.m. Now, I can still move around at 6 or 7 p.m. I even do housework and try to go out."
Meanwhile, Jin Tae-hyun married actress Park Si-eun in 2015, and the couple has consistently expanded their family through volunteer activities and adoption. In 2022, they expressed sorrow after losing their second child to stillbirth, but they have since adopted two daughters and continue to share their unwavering love. Recently, he received a thyroid cancer diagnosis and is in recovery following surgery.
