The wave of Hwang Chan-sung, which started in Japan, is spreading across Asia through China.
Hwang Chan-sung will release his first regular album 'DAWN' in Japan on October 29. This album contains a total of 12 songs, including last year's single 'Into the Fire,' the theme song 'これからの君のために' from his first Japanese drama 'Junqitsasa inyeon,' and a cover of Yutaka Ozaki's masterpiece 'Forget-me-not.'
The album name 'DAWN' means "a moment of new beginnings and growth," and it was named by Hwang Chan-sung himself. In particular, the title track '甘く 切なく く' is a mid-tempo R&B×city pop genre featuring 2PM's main vocalist Jun.K, and it has drawn attention even before its release.
In celebration of the album's release, a total of five types of random photo cards will be provided as a limited edition gift along with the standard album jacket. Simultaneously with the album release, Hwang Chan-sung is also expected to hold a solo concert 'CHANSUNG(2PM) 2025 Japan Tour DAWN~The First Step~' in three cities: Kanagawa, Aichi, and Osaka, from November 2 to 5.
Hwang Chan-sung's activities in Japan have already garnered intense interest since late last year. When the single 'これからの君のために' was released in December, a showcase held at the largest shopping mall in Japan, Lake Town KAZE, and DiverCity Tokyo was crowded with countless fans. Additionally, he has been recognized for his acting skills as the lead in a Japanese terrestrial drama, and he has appeared on popular variety programs such as TBS's morning live broadcast 'ラビット!(ラヴィット!)', creating a buzz with his native-level Japanese and sense. He has solidified his presence across screens and in the music market through the movie '누구보다도 강하게 안아줘(誰よりもつよく抱きしめて).'
This popularity, which began in Japan, is now extending to China and is expected to spread throughout Asia. Hwang Chan-sung will officially announce his entry into China with the release of his first solo new song '그리움의 금단 증상(思念戒反).' This track was written and composed by China's rising singer-songwriter Yaozhixin (姚智) and expresses the internal conflict and deep night loneliness occurring between love and obsession. The audio will be exclusively released on the Chinese platform '汽水音(Qishui Yinyue)' on August 26, and will be available on domestic music sites on August 30.
Hwang Chan-sung noted, "Last year, I received a lot of love in Japan through dramas and movies, thanks to which I could embark on new challenges in music. The release of this regular album in Japan and the announcement of my first new song in China are very significant for me. I sincerely thank those who empathize with my music and stories across borders, and I will continue to create opportunities to communicate more closely with fans throughout Asia."
Hwang Chan-sung is solidifying his global presence with his active activities connecting Japan and China, and expectations are rising for his conquest of Asia.
