Actress Jung Ilwoo's mother, Shim Yeon-ok, a professor at Korea Traditional Culture University, has retired.
On the 28th, Jung Ilwoo remarked on his social media account, "Mother, I sincerely congratulate you on your retirement. I respect your steps, as you have not spared your dedication and efforts throughout the long years, and as your son, I would like to express my gratitude."
Jung Ilwoo added, "Now, please beautifully conclude a long journey and I sincerely support your path towards a new beginning. Stay healthy and I love you."
Recently, Jung Ilwoo appeared on KBS2's "Problem Child in House" and shared insights about his family background. He revealed that both of his parents are professors and that they became a campus couple when they met as the student council president and female student council president while studying at Korea University.
In particular, Jung Ilwoo's mother plays a crucial supporting role as one of the seven specialists in cultural assets at the Cultural Heritage Administration, who assess holders of intangible cultural heritage and is the director of the Ancient Textile Research Institute. She even created traditional Korean costumes for Jung Ilwoo when he debuted as an actor. Additionally, Jung Ilwoo shocked many by revealing that he is a descendant of Jeong Yakyong, alongside actor Jung Haein.
Meanwhile, Jung Ilwoo is currently appearing in the KBS2 weekend drama "Our Golden Days."
