On the 28th, Psy's agency, P Nation, said, "The proxy receipt of a professional medication, namely a sleeping pill, is a clear error and negligence. We apologize."
The agency explained, "Singer Psy has been diagnosed with chronic insomnia and is taking sleeping pills as prescribed by medical staff," adding, "The usage of sleeping pills has been according to the prescribed dosage under medical guidance, and there has been no proxy prescription."
Additionally, "There were instances in which a third party received the sleeping pills on his behalf, and a police investigation is currently underway," the agency noted, expressing, "We sincerely apologize once again for causing concern."
According to police and others on the 27th, the Seoul Seodaemun Police Station is reportedly verifying allegations that Psy and Professor A from a university hospital, who prescribed the medication to him, are suspected of violating medical laws.
Psy has been reported to have obtained psychotropic medication from a comprehensive hospital in Seoul without receiving in-person consultations until recently. It's also reported that a manager has been confirmed to have received the medication on his behalf.
