The domestic OTT platform Tving is showing an increase in subscribers through strategic partnerships.
On the 28th, Tving (CEO Choi Joo-hee) announced that the cumulative number of new subscribers from its partnerships with Baemin's 'Baemin Club' and the launch of the 'double usage ticket' with Wavve has increased more than three times over the two months since the first week of the release.
This achievement demonstrates that the strategic partnerships promoted by Tving are contributing to sustained subscriber growth and the extension of service outreach beyond short-term responses. It is particularly analyzed as a case that proves various partnership models within the OTT industry can be key drivers for platform growth.
The 'Baemin Club' partnership is evaluated to have confirmed the possibility of a lifestyle-oriented subscription model by connecting the delivery app usage behaviors of users in their 20s and 30s with their OTT viewing experiences. In fact, users showed a pattern of consuming Tving's popular originals and sports broadcasts alongside delivery and grocery shopping, and the proportion of VOD viewing was also found to be high.
The 'double usage ticket' with Wavve is the first collaboration between representative OTT platforms in Korea, and it is receiving positive responses for providing a variety of content choices and reasonable usage benefits. Through this, the monthly active users (MAU) of both companies have increased, and the efficiency of subscriptions for users has also improved.
A Tving official noted, 'Strategic partnerships are functioning as key drivers that extend user touchpoints and broaden the OTT market's subscription experience, going beyond mere service linkage,' adding that 'we will continue to provide differentiated value to subscribers through various partnerships both domestically and internationally.'
Tving plans to strengthen its partnership pipeline by expanding collaborations with various industries including telecommunications, distribution, and finance, and to lay the groundwork for global expansion. In addition, it aims to solidify its position as the top OTT service in Korea by continuously presenting differentiated services such as fandom broadcasting, watch together, and short dramas.
