The 'Queen of Trot' Song Ga-in showcased her versatile charm from dance to live performances.
Song appeared on SBS Power FM's 'Wendy's Young Street' on the evening of the 27th at 8 p.m. and revealed the behind-the-scenes of her new song 'Mambo of Love' along with her hidden dance skills.
After four months, Song returned to 'Wendy's Young Street' and shared her story about the much-discussed dance cover of BLACKPINK's Jenni's 'SOLO' at her recent solo fan meeting. She noted, "I like Jenni, and I thought it might be a bit easier since the song is slow, so I chose it," adding, "I practiced for two weeks. I was nervous for my first stage, but when the fans shouted 'Do it again!' I was more relaxed for the second. However, I don't think I could do it again if asked."
Nevertheless, Song Ga-in drew attention by challenging her first dance song since her debut with the new track 'Mambo of Love.' She remarked, "Teacher Seol Woon-do gifted me the song, saying, 'I'll write a song that even young friends will like,'" adding, "I expect it to be a hit like 'Mambo of Love.'"
In response to listeners' requests for an 'ending pose,' Song added a wink and cat ear pose, showcasing her MZ sensibility. She unveiled the choreography to 'Mambo of Love' for the first time, creating a lively atmosphere that even got DJ Wendy dancing along with its catchy moves and refrain. Wendy praised it as "a dance that's easy and comfortable to follow at once," while Song heated up the studio with her bowl-heart ending pose.
On that day, Song presented various cover stages, including a live rendition of 'Why Me,' a track from her 4th regular album 'Gain; Moon,' proving her wide vocal spectrum. Following a trot interpretation of Red Velvet's 'Psycho,' she shocked listeners by delivering a verse from 4MEN's 'Can I Love Again,' which was the background music during her college days, showcasing her delicate vocalization and new tone typical of ballads.
Additionally, Song Ga-in sang a refreshing high note filled with sorrow for the OST 'Golden' from the Netflix animated film 'K-Pop Demon Hunters,' properly showcasing the status of 'K-Trot' with her uniquely heart-felt voice, receiving a warm response from both DJ Wendy and the listeners.
Meanwhile, Song, who is perfectly mastering a range of genres from trot to dance, plans to meet her fans through various content starting with the release of her new song 'Mambo of Love.'
