As the finale approaches, the stars of 'My Girlfriend is the Man,' Yoon San-ha, Arin, Yoo Jeong-hoo, and Chuu, have unveiled heartfelt 'final thoughts' brimming with gratitude and regret.
KBS2's Wednesday-Thursday drama 'My Girlfriend is the Man' (written by Lee Hae-na, directed by Yoo Kwan-mo, produced by Studio N, Blossom Entertainment, Playground) is a romantic drama depicting the chaotic love story between a girlfriend, Kim Ji-eun, who suddenly becomes a flower boy overnight, and a boyfriend, Park Yoon-jae, who cannot give up on her.
In particular, 'My Girlfriend is the Man' has consistently ranked in the Top 5 of the Hallyu Asia popularity rankings on the OTT platform Lemino, operated by Japan's largest telecommunications corporation NTT Docomo, proving its hot popularity in Japan even as it approaches its finale.
In this regard, the leads of 'My Girlfriend is the Man,' Yoon San-ha, Arin, Yoo Jeong-hoo, and Chuu, revealed their sentiments filled with gratitude and regret ahead of the finale on the 28th (today).
First, Yoon San-ha, who portrayed Park Yoon-jae, a character confused and romantically inclined as his girlfriend unexpectedly becomes a flower boy, said, 'I remember being very nervous and excited when we started filming, and it's already disappointing and empty to think it's ending. Above all, the time spent learning and growing through the work 'My Girlfriend is the Man' and the character 'Park Yoon-jae' will remain memorable for a long time.' He added that the choices of each character are the biggest 'final episode viewing point,' saying, 'It would be good to pay attention to how the emotions and events that have built up so far will be resolved and what direction the relationship between Ji-eun and Ji-hoon will take. I hope you will stay with us until the end.'
Arin, who plays Kim Ji-eun, park Yoon-jae's lovely girlfriend who suddenly transforms into a flower boy due to a genetic anomaly, expressed gratitude, stating, 'I sincerely thank you for loving 'My Girlfriend is the Man' and Ji-eun. Memories of filming happily while smiling from last year's hot summer to the cold winter come to mind, and it's already nearing the end, which makes me feel bittersweet.' She further noted, 'The scenes where Ji-eun and Park Yoon-jae first meet on a blind date and share their first kiss stand out the most. I thought a lot about how to express those hazy yet dreamy emotions, and the director captured that moment so beautifully that I personally want to consider it a memorable scene.' Arin concluded by saying, 'Whether Park Yoon-jae and Kim Ji-eun can maintain their love until the end will be a key viewing point for the finale. There are still interesting and full of twists stories left, so I hope you stay with us until the end and give us a lot of love.'
Yoo Jeong-hoo, who delicately expressed love and dream dilemmas while playing the role of Kim Ji-hoon, a biological counterpart of Kim Ji-eun (Arin), said, 'I feel honored to have built great relationships with all the staff and fellow actors, and I'm grateful to the viewers for their overwhelming love. I feel like I've grown a lot as both an individual and an actor while portraying the wonderful character Ji-hoon in such a great work.' He also conveyed his aspirations, saying, 'I will continue to repay many thankful people and work hard to show diverse facets as an actor. Please look forward to it and keep watching.'
Chuu, who appears as Kang Min-joo, a hot girl at Yeonhee University secretly in love with Park Yoon-jae, expressed her sadness about leaving 'My Girlfriend is the Man' and Kang Min-joo, saying, 'Every time a well-crafted drama is released, I find it amazing and enjoyable, as if I'm seeing it for the first time, so I used to watch it two or three times. During filming and while each episode aired, I poured a lot of affection into the character Min-joo.' Chuu recalled, 'The scene where we were pulling each other's hair is the most memorable. It was a scene where we were fiercely confronting each other, and during the actual filming, I had to give it my all, which was physically challenging, and I was half-excited and half-worried about how it would come across on screen. But fortunately, it seems the emotional lines and mood of the drama were well captured on screen, so I am satisfied.' Finally, Chuu stated, 'In the last episode, I believe the key viewing point will be how Yoon-jae and Ji-eun overcome their challenges and how strong their love can be. I think it would be nice to watch to see what kind of choices Min-joo makes and how she meets her end in the process.'
The production team stated, 'All stories of 'My Girlfriend is the Man' will conclude on the 28th,' adding, 'You can expect the four actors' passionate performances and unexpected developments until the end. Please tune in to check out the anticipated conclusion and message.'
Meanwhile, the finale of KBS2's Wednesday-Thursday drama 'My Girlfriend is the Man' will air at 9:50 p.m. on the 28th.
