Lee Jae-wook and Choi Sung-eun open the curtain on a remodeling romance through 'Last Summer'.
KBS 2TV's new Saturday-Sunday miniseries 'Last Summer' (directed by Min Yeon-hong, written by Jeon Yu-ri), set to premiere in November, unveiled a first teaser poster featuring architect Baek Do-ha (played by Lee Jae-wook) and civil servant Song Ha-kyeong (played by Choi Sung-eun), capturing the excitement of their summer first love.
'Last Summer' is a remodeling romance drama that unfolds as a man and a woman, friends since childhood, confront the truth of their first love hidden in a Pandora's box.
Lee Jae-wook and Choi Sung-eun play childhood friends Baek Do-ha and Song Ha-kyeong, who grew up together. In particular, Lee Jae-wook takes on two roles as Do-ha's twin brother Baek Do-young, expanding his acting skills significantly.
During their childhood, Do-ha and Ha-kyeong spent summers in a peanut house built by their fathers, who were very close friends. However, due to their parents' divorce, Do-ha had to live with his mother in the U.S. and could only stay in Korea for 21 days during the summer vacation. Ha-kyeong has feelings for Do-ha but cannot express them, and eventually the two become irrevocably linked due to a shocking event.
The first teaser poster released today (27th) features Lee Jae-wook (as Baek Do-ha) and Choi Sung-eun (as Song Ha-kyeong) facing each other amidst the freshness of summer. Their subtle gazes convey both taut tension and youthful excitement.
The 'Last Summer' logo at the top of the poster also captures attention. The handwritten logo evokes the refreshing sentiments unique to summer, enhancing the atmosphere of the work. Notably, the two characters' backs against a vibrant green background beautifully encapsulate the bittersweetness of a first love that comes in the height of summer.
In this regard, the production team noted, "We wanted to vividly capture the complex emotions of Do-ha, the summer guest, and Ha-kyeong, who could only see him for 21 days." They added, "The perfect chemistry between Lee Jae-wook and Choi Sung-eun is expected to delicately unfold the characters' narratives, so we ask for your great interest and love. It will be a warm drama in the chilly November."
Meanwhile, 'Last Summer' brings together director Min Yeon-hong, known for his delicate directing skills in 'Royal Loader', 'Missing: They Were Here' series, and 'Insider', and writer Jeon Yu-ri, who demonstrated solid writing ability in 'Kiss Sixth Sense' and 'Radio Romance'.
