The team behind 'Mr. President's Ears Are Donkeys' bowed their heads amidst controversy caused by rude remarks.
On the 27th, the team from KBS2 'Mr. President's Ears Are Donkeys' said, "We sincerely apologize for causing concern and discomfort to many due to the contents of the program aired last week."
They continued, "We will do our utmost to ensure that such an incident does not happen again by paying closer attention throughout the entire production process."
The team behind 'Mr. President's Ears Are Donkeys' added, "Once again, we deeply apologize for disappointing many, and we will learn from this incident to repay with a more responsible and mature broadcast."
In the episode aired on the 24th on KBS2 'Mr. President's Ears Are Donkeys,' anchor Um Ji-in was depicted receiving marriage counseling alongside anchors Nam Hyun-jong and Kim Jin-woong. During this process, Kim Jin-woong stated, "I cannot live like senior Do Kyung-wan. It may be a disrespectful comment to my senior, but I cannot live as someone's subordinate."
The wife of former anchor Do Kyung-wan, Jang Yoon-jung, expressed her displeasure on her social media account, saying, "To say such things without even having a friendship is absurd. Remarks or actions that do not make the other party laugh cannot be wrapped as jokes or pranks. There are no subordinates within a family."
As the controversy spread, anchor Kim Jin-woong said, "I am still lacking in experience, and it seems that this opportunity, which has come to me so valuable, made me overly eager, leading me to be careless. As a result, I ended up saying something I shouldn't have." He conveyed his apologies to Jang Yoon-jung and Do Kyung-wan.
In response, Jang Yoon-jung said, "I received a message from an unknown number conveying apologies. It must have taken courage to apologize, and I think I should accept it, considering that sentiment," and accepted the apology. Do Kyung-wan also noted, "It may seem to some that our couple's appearance is leaning to one side. However, we respect and care for each other and are living together while firmly relying on one another."
