Hong Hye-geol posted on the 26th, "Today I confirmed 'no recurrence' in the 3-year check-up after lung surgery at the hospital," adding, "I will see you more often after the rain."
He also uploaded a video of himself singing and stated, "I just had a great time at the karaoke with the staff and the grants teachers. I scored 100 points singing Lee Jeong-seok's song 'For Love.' I'm happy. Everyone, be happy."
Earlier, Hong Hye-geol's wife, Dr. Yeo Esther, revealed regarding her husband's health, "In April 2022, my husband had surgery due to glassy opacity in the chest. The biopsy revealed lung cancer. I think I am cured, but my husband needs to breathe good air and eat good food."

Meanwhile, Hong Hye-geol, who holds a doctoral degree from Seoul National University College of Medicine, is married to Yeo Esther, whom he met at the same school, and they have two sons.
