'Pursuing Old Encounters' staged an unpredictable emotional drama ahead of the final choice of the cast for Season 3.
On the 25th, the show aired on KBS Joy, KBS2, and GTV, featuring a romantic date between Hong-ja and Song Byeong-cheol, followed by a barbecue party titled 'The Flower of Fate Journey'. On that day, the love lines of the eight participants from Season 3, mixed with affection, curiosity, jealousy, and regret, exploded the viewers' dopamine.
That day, Song Byeong-cheol and Hong-ja enjoyed a date at a billiards hall. The two played pocket billiards with a wish grant at stake. Song Byeong-cheol was left speechless the moment he saw Hong-ja, a 'billiards beginner', take her first shot, as she showcased an unexpectedly skilled shot for a beginner. Flustered by the unexpected twist, he fell for Hong-ja's new charm.
During the date directive 'applying hand cream on each other', their excitement reached its peak. Song Byeong-cheol held Hong-ja's hand and carefully performed a hand massage. He candidly revealed, 'I'm quite shy about this. I thought it was a pretty big physical contact, so I was flustered.'
At the barbecue party held in the evening, the complicated emotions of the participants were laid bare. Lee Gyu-han, curious about how Solbi and Park Gwang-jae's date went, subtly expressed jealousy, while Song Byeong-cheol, wanting to spend time with Hwang-bo, could not hide his bitter expression at seeing Lee Gyu-han naturally occupying her side.
Hong-ja and Park Gwang-jae also felt the waves of emotions. Hong-ja kept worrying about Park Gwang-jae conversing with Jang So-yeon. Later, Hong-ja confessed in an interview with the production team, 'I felt jealous and was not in a good mood.' On the other hand, upon hearing Hong-ja express that her billiards date with Song Byeong-cheol was more fun, Park Gwang-jae revealed his complicated feelings.
On the morning of the last day, the participants started a one-on-one relay date ahead of the final choice. Each participant had 10 minutes to converse with different partners, and the female participants were curious about whom the male participants would approach first.
Lee Gyu-han went to Solbi first. He said while dating Hwang-bo, he kept thinking about Solbi, revealing deepening feelings. Solbi mentioned that during a 30-second eye contact mission with Lee Gyu-han, she felt 'a gaze more powerful than ten words.'
Hwang-bo and Song Byeong-cheol, who shared their first drive date, ended up meeting again. Both expressed their regrets about not having a date during the fate journey. Song Byeong-cheol conveyed his sincerity, saying, 'If I had one more day, I would love to do my favorite hobby together once more,' while Hwang-bo mentioned she felt their hearts connected after the eye contact mission, drawing attention.
Hong-ja and Park Gwang-jae, as well as Jang So-yeon and Lee Kyeon, also participated in the 10-minute relay date. Hong-ja honestly revealed to Park Gwang-jae, 'I had a strong first impression when I first came in. I wanted to know more, even if I go out.' Meanwhile, Jang So-yeon and Lee Kyeon shared their honest concerns, stating, 'Neither of us is certain about the final choice yet.'
Next week, the final after-choice results of Season 3 of 'Pursuing Old Encounters' will be revealed. However, the participants, who had vowed to make choices without regrets, appear to be deeply troubled. Curiosity stirs among viewers about how many couples will form as the final couples.
Meanwhile, 'Pursuing Old Encounters' will be broadcast simultaneously on Sept. 1 at 9:50 p.m. on KBS Joy, KBS2, and GTV.
