BTS member V threw the first pitch at a home game of the Major League Baseball (MLB) Los Angeles (LA) Dodgers.
According to AP News and other foreign media on the 25th (local time), V went up to Dodger Stadium ahead of the Dodgers' home game against the Cincinnati Reds, received the mound from Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto, lightly bowed his head toward him, then completed a windup and threw with his left hand.
Wearing a Dodgers jersey with the number 7 tucked into light-colored jeans, V entered the dugout while waving to fans in response to their cheers.
Before the game, V briefly spoke with the Dodgers' star player Shohei Ohtani, who is also known as 'two-way player,' and gave him a light hug.
Earlier, on the 17th, the LA Dodgers posted on their social media account a photo of V along with the message, 'ARMY, are you ready?' announcing that V was scheduled to throw the first pitch that day.
The post received around 40,000 likes and over 26,000 retweets within about two hours.
As news of V throwing the first pitch spread, the ticket booking site experienced temporary access issues.
Soccer player Son Heung-min, who recently transferred to Los Angeles FC, a Major League Soccer (MLS) team affiliated with the Dodgers, is also scheduled to throw the first pitch at the Dodgers' home game on the 28th.
