"Meggy Kang, director of 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' (abbreviated as KDH), is set to appear on 'MMTG.'
On the 26th, the web entertainment program 'MMTG' announced that Meggy Kang, director of the Netflix animated film 'K-Pop Demon Hunters,' will make an appearance.
This appearance was reportedly suggested by Director Kang's team to 'MMTG.' The significance is greater as it was the only YouTube appearance during her visit to Korea.
The interview was composed of dense content that encompassed Meggy Kang's life and career, her passion as a K-Pop fan, and behind-the-scenes details of the production of K-Pop Demon Hunters. Notably, MC Jaejae appeared dressed as 'Jaerumi,' the character of the main protagonist 'Rumi,' to welcome Director Kang. In an interview that cleverly utilized memes from the work, Director Kang burst into "genuine laughter," creating a cheerful atmosphere.
The section that attracted the most interest was the behind-the-scenes of the project. Director Kang elaborated on the settings, the planning background of characters, musical and directing directions that fans were curious about, and briefly hinted at the sequel, raising expectations.
She also generously demonstrated her deep K-Pop fandom accumulated over many years. Upon seeing various idol photos presented by Jaejae, she showcased her expertise by identifying positions and character traits solely by their faces, highlighting her status as a true 'K-Pop expert.'
"The production team of 'MMTG' noted, 'This is not just a simple interview; we prepared various devices to draw out Meggy Kang's real story,' and added, 'If you are a viewer curious about how new content that crosses the boundaries of K-Pop and animation is created, you must watch this broadcast.' It will air on Thursday, Sept. 11, at 6 p.m.
